According to NASA and astronomers, a green comet known as C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is expected to come closest to Earth between Wednesday and Thursday. The comet, which has been traveling through the solar system for a month, will be about 26 million miles away from Earth at that time. It was first discovered last March and is unique because of its green hue. NASA scientists reported that the comet reached its closest point to the sun, called perihelion, on January 12th. It became visible to Northern Hemisphere stargazers at the start of the month, and to the rest of the world a few weeks later.
