Looks like things are going absolutely beautifully in Brisbane with the latest lockdown! Hope the rest of the country is taking notes, this might well be the new "Gold Standard"
In all seriousness though, this entire situation in Brisbane with the 3 day snap lockdown is turning into a farce. Worse, it looks like our good friends in the government are somewhat responsible for the entire mess even though they are more than happy to point the finger at the public and the "wicked virus" to cover for their incompetence. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxsZQsZ4Sa0
Serial BS Artist Daniel Andrews says "In Victoria Equality is NOT Negotiable" prior to holding a drag story time for young children in the Victorian State Parliament.
Can anyone think of a time where equality in Victoria was in fact negotiable in the past 3 years?
A few examples come to mind.?

Read into this what you will but there was an interesting casual admission by Victoria's CHO Brett Sutton at todays press conference. There wasn't much follow up by the press but I thought it may give us more insight into the pivot in messaging that will happen in the next few months from the Andrews government.
It's in stark contrast to the fear/hope delivered by Andrews on the same topic over the last few months (as shown in this clip from July). It looks like 2021 will continue to present challenges for the people of Victoria.

Why do our State Governments keep locking us down? Will high vaccination rates lead to different solutions as promised? Or are lockdowns here to stay, until our leaders grown a spine and do their jobs?

The AEC recently replied to a post on X, stating, "If someone votes at two different polling places within their electorate and places their formal vote in the ballot box at each polling place, their vote is counted."
"We cannot remove the vote from the count because, due to the secrecy of the ballot, we have no way of knowing which ballot paper belongs to which person. However, the number of double votes received is incredibly low, and usually related to mental health or age."
This response came in reaction to a post by a Labor MP who "mistakenly" used #voteoften in a post on X encouraging people to vote Yes.
Consequently, this has sparked a considerable amount of online discussion and raised concerns about the entire electoral process. However, is this simply another instance of the AEC being ineffective and inconsistent in their communication on online platforms?
Should they even maintain a presence on social media if they cannot provide clear communication and ensure the removal of personal/political bias from their employees who are replying to posts?
For extra context on the multiple voting the AEC has also said that "The instances of multiple marks have never been of a significant volume and never more than the margin in an election. We have electronic certified lists across all pre-polls and continuing to many on-the-day polling places with real-time mark-off of the roll."

I’ve had a few people reach out to me with questions & concerns about my safety and well-being following an incident at an anti-fascist, pro vaccine & anti-racism rally where I was surrounded by an unruly mob that accosted and stopped me from doing my work as an independent journalist. I’ve made this video to address some of those questions and share my thoughts on what occurred.
People associated with these groups, prior to and following the protests have given out my mobile number in attempt to troll me, circulated multiple false posts about my character with fake images, and trivialised my race through accusations of tokenism and giving voice to the very people they say are the extremists using me.
I will not be intimidated or silenced by these pathetic attempts at character assassination, and will continue to bring independent media coverage at any rally I choose to attend as an on ground reporter for my community.

The groundwork for a domestic passport system has progressed further. If the roll-out goes to plan (unlikely), authorities will be able to ask for vaccination papers at State borders from July.
Although Scott Morrison claims it is a choice for States to require proof of vaccination for travel, we all know what the States will do.
Which begs the question if it is constitutional to restrict the free movement of Australians within the country based on vaccination? Most likely not. This is probably why the Federal government is leaving it up to the States to enforce, but what then is the point of being an Australian?
The Federal government needs to do their primary task and enforce the constitutional rights of Australians, otherwise their existence is meaningless. No point creating frameworks for States to enforce at their own leisure when it comes to rights and individual freedoms. This is basic stuff, and a dereliction of the primary function of Federal government as it relates to protecting our rights.

Last year people would've laughed off the possibility of Australia heading down this path as a conspiracy, now we are living in it.
