SALVATION IS A PROCESS THAT BEGINS WHEN A PERSON IS BORN-AGAIN THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, BY BELIEVING IN HIS RESURRECTION (Romans 10:9). THIS PROCESS WILL BE FINISHED AT JESUS’ SECOND COMING; SALVATION IS A FUTURE PROMISE, NOT A PRESENT FULFILLMENT
THE PROCESS OF SALVATION FROM BEGINNING TO COMPLETION AT JESUS’ SECOND COMING
1. First, a person must become Born Again through Faith in Jesus Christ, specifically by believing in Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead; this is how a person becomes a Believer. After being Born Again, the Believer receives the Promise of Eternal Life. Romans 10:9
2. A Believer is Tested, Tried, and Refined through trials and temptations over the course of the rest of the life in this body. 1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Faith in Jesus begins when a person is Born-Again, but it must last unto the end of life in this body, whether through death, or through transformation of the body at Jesus’ Second Coming. (1 Cor. 15:52)
3. If the Believer endures unto the end (of his life in the body); if he passes the tests of Faith, and does not fall into Unbelief; does not become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin; then the Believer will receive the Gift of Eternal Life AFTER leaving this body. 1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Being Born-Again only brings the Promise of Salvation, but the Promise of Salvation will not be fulfilled until the believer is resurrected to Eternal Life at Jesus’ Second Coming.
4. When the Believer will have received a new Immortal, Incorruptible body, which cannot die, then and only then will the Promise of Eternal Life have been fulfilled in the Believer's Life. This Promise is a FUTURE event which will not be fulfilled until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ when the Believer will be TRANSFORMED from Mortal to Immortal, from Corruption to Incorruption. 1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed (TRANSFORMED), 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. Until our corruptible bodies are not changed into incorruptible ones at the Second Coming of Jesus, Salvation which brings Eternal Life remains a Future Promise! Salvation is the end of faith, not the beginning; once a person is Saved, has the Promise of Salvation fulfilled, the person will no longer require Faith, since that which was Promised through Faith will have been received by the believer. While yet in a mortal body, no one is Saved, no one has Salvation; what they have is the Promise of Salvation through Faith.
