Scott Horton and Eric Schuler, contributor at The Libertarian Institute, discuss President Trump's decision to withdraw the US from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, otherwise known as the "Iran Deal".
The conversation goes through each of the major arguments Trump put forth to justify backing out of the deal, and Scott explains why none of the objections can stand up to scrutiny--from sunset clauses to the supposed lack of inspection coverage at military facilities. The conversation closes with a discussion of how the US decision to withdraw from this deal may negatively influence the pending negotiations with North Korea.

Asia Times columnist Pepe Escobar discusses the Egyptian moment, a mash-up of the French Revolution and the Berlin Wall’s destruction; the Arab world’s reclaimed dignity, after humiliations in colonial and post-colonial times; and how culture and language barriers prevent the revolutionary spirit from spreading from the Mideast to the Central Asian “Stans,” despite the autocratic governments and Muslim populations common to both regions.

Aniqa Raihan joins Scott to discuss her article for Foreign Policy in Focus, “A Beginner’s Guide to the Unrecognized Villages of Israel.” Raihan explains how the bedouins of Israel—who are citizens—have been continually deprived of their homes, land, and other vital resources. The Bedouin people are regularly forced from their homes and villages, many of which are unrecognized by the state of Israel and reappropriated for other purposes. Scott then asks about the BDS movement; Raihan explains the goals and origins of the movement and how it’s scaring the Israeli establishment.
Aniqa Raihan is a former Next Leader at the Institute for Policy Studies and a past member of Students for Justice in Palestine at George Washington University. Follow her on Twitter @niqray.
