Early Retirement - is SE ASIA the Right Place? (Commentary)
Early Retirement or just retiring was topics in a number of emails I received this week. I was out at the coffee shop by myself and decided to ramble on about this topic. I didn't really cover everything ... like healthcare, but will get to that and cover it thoroughly in future videos.
Its a big decision to move to SE Asia from your home in the west, but it certainly can be a rewarding one if you want to enjoy a high level of personal freedom and the respect that us seniors should be getting in our home countries ... but don't.

A lot of my video is shot within 5km of my house in the Tân Phú district of Ho Ci Minh City (Saigon). There is a lot of activity here.
The videos are representative of everyday life and challenges in the city for retired expats. My goal is to help those looking for another life to see what it's like in this wonderful SE Asian country. My hope is that you will visit Vietnam and just maybe you will enjoy it as much as I do. Some of the videos are just for fun, some are about the differences in the cultures.
I will also be adding some videos about my time in other SE Asian countries.
(Video Info) The weather was really playing tricks on the lighting for this video. It is rainy season and during this video a storm passed through. Not only did that change the overall light, Tango Coffee also started moving their electric awnings. Pretty problematic. Rainy season and the constant motor scooter noise in Saigon make shooting video a challenging endeavor. When you are a 1 man show, its pretty difficult to shoot consistently pro looking video.

Sorry my video quality isn't as good as usual -- I thought I'd be out of here soon and shopped my camera gear to Philippines. All I have is my smartphone, a pocket osmo and a lav/recorder ... I would have at least kept a small travel tripod had I known I was going to be stuck here. Oh well. It is what it is.

We are always told we are a free country, a democracy, but are we really?.Don't think for a minute the USA is controlled by secret organizations of wealthy oligarchs or the Masons. These just don't prove out. The real power is in numbers and the "deep state" and/or the bureaucracy have those numbers and the power. Vietnam has done a really good job of containing the Corona virus and has prevented large-scale infection. They closed the border early and restricted international travel. People with the virus were quickly quarantined ... so far all the outcomes have been good.

It was really nice and convenient to be able to renew my visa at SM Mall--Downtown. The new facility is really nice, and going their lets you combine
your visa business with shopping at the SM Mall. What a great move for the

Rain delayed a lot of the outside work at the neighbor's new house. But still they accomplished a lot.
We got to meet Sam, one of my subscribers. That was great! It's so good to meet your online friends in person!
We were also sad to see the beautiful Tango Coffee gone ... it was a great place to relax in the afternoon and shoot video
