This is the follow up on the pictures I posted last week, the shots of the march to and the gathering at Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's house.
About 125 people gathered for the march against austerity, Chicago style. Speakers - gathered on the parkway at Emanuel's place - represented some of the impacted populations. Teachers, health providers, activists and the mentally ill were all represented.
There is something you need to know about the video before exiting. When I do event videos, I structure them to try and give the viewer the experience of being there. The hustle, the fun, the determination - I want you to get a sense of those.
Doing this involves getting sound bytes not in context and using sounds and video clips out of order. In this case, the marchers used a lot of music during their march. I have included one of the tunes they played, selected in this case because it was the right length.
In case you want to double check my work for cherry picking, juxtaposition games or just want to hear the speeches in their entirety I've linked the sound files in their entirety below. I have listed them not by the speaker's name but by the organization they represent. This was done so as not to mangle the spelling's of their names.
