Nous partons en exploration dans les Chiapas : de magnifiques découvertes
FR- Nous sentons besoin de bouger après presque 3 mois à El Rancho RV Park (Oaxaca). Nous y laissons la caravane et partons, chanceux, entre 2 ouragans. Après 550km de route, c'est parti pour 1 stop dans la ville de Tuxtla Gutierrez pour son célèbre Canyon El Sumidero. La faune y est fort riche et nous bénéficions de quelques rencontres remarquables. Notre 2ème stop se fera dans la ville de San Cristobal de las Casas, qui fait l'unanimité de tous les voyageurs : un vrai bonheur. À seulement 10km de là, nous découvrirons une communauté de descendants directs des Mayas, un lieu vraiment à part. Entre temps, nous vous aurons proposé un arrêt à la grandiose cascade del Chiflon. EN-We feel the need to move after almost 3 months in El Rancho RV Park (Oaxaca). We leave the caravan there , and take the road luckily, between two hurricanes. After 550 km of driving, it’s time for our 1st stop in the city of Tuxtla Gutierrez to explore its famous El Sumidero Canyon. The fauna is very rich and we benefit from some remarkable encounters. Our 2nd stop will be in the city of San Cristobal de las Casas, which is unanimous among all travellers: a real pleasure. Just 10 km away, we will discover a community of direct descendants of the Mayas, a truly unique place. In the meantime, we offer you a stop at the magnificent Cascade del Chiflon. Good viewing!

FR- Parc National de Jasper. Comme nous le craignions, la réouverture de la frontière américaine a encore été reportée. Pour l'instant jusqu'au 21 septembre mais il y a de fortes chances que cela soit reporté au-delà de cette date aussi... Bref, nous devons nous adapter et trouver un moyen de pouvoir traverser et quitter le Canada avec l'hiver qui arrive. As feared, the reopening of the U.S. border was delayed again. For the time being until September 21, but there is a good chance that it will be postponed beyond that date as well... In short, we must adapt and find a way to cross and leave Canada with the coming winter. A potential option would be to obtain a permanent resident visa (temporary or permanent) for Mexico. We will explore this.

C'est un territoire riche d'histoire et de culture indienne, ouvrant sur des paysages grandioses, parfois avec un passé tragique.
Nous profitons d'une météo anormalement chaude pour sortir la moto et vous amenons découvrir la ville de Frank, à l'entrée des rocheuses. Il s'y est déroulé en 1903 un terrible, spectaculaire et inégalé éboulement de terrain. Mais les lieux nous révèlent d'autres catastrophes.
Balade d'une autre journée, toujours en mode motards : les paysages spectaculaires de Waterton Lakes.

FR- En parcourant plus de 10 000 km en quelques semaines pour quitter le Canada et arriver au Sud des USA, nous nous sommes bien vite rendu compte que notre caravane de 37 pieds de long (environ 12 m) était totalement disproportionnée et pour notre pick-up et pour notre mode de vie. Nous avons décider de la changer pour une autre caravane, tout aussi confortable mais deux fois plus petite. Mais il y a un monde entre notre projet et les contraintes règlementaires. Il nous faut trouver un moyen d'enregistrer la notre aux USA, sans retourner à la frontière, alors que tout le monde nous dit que c'est impossible. Puis, il nous faut enregistrer la nouvelle aux USA avant de partir pour le Mexique. Ce fut épique mais nous y sommes arrivés. Voici comment.
EN- Travelling more than 10,000 km in a few weeks to leave Canada and arrive in the South of the USA, we quickly realized that our 37-ft trailer was way too big for our truck and for our way of life. We decided to change it for another trailer, just as comfortable but twice as small. But there is a world between our project and regulatory constraints. We have to find a way to register ours in the USA, without going back to the border, when everyone tells us that it is impossible. Then we have to record the new one in the USA before we go to Mexico. It was epic but we got there. Here’s how.
