After beating the Elite Four, watch TV at home in Littleroot Town that will tell about a certain Pokémon roaming the Hoenn region. Look all over the Hoenn routes to search for this Pokémon. If you find what the news told about, the Pokémon is identified to be Latios. Latios is on Level 40. Roaming Pokémon flee on the first turn when encountering them. Keep checking your Pokédex to get a location of the roaming Pokémon and it will change route if you change areas. If you still have the Master Ball, it would be the time to use it. If not, use any Pokémon that knows Mean Look to prevent the Pokémon from getting away then use Ultra Balls. Latios has a signature move called Luster Purge, having a 50% chance of lowering the target’s Special Defense stat.

Winona is one of the Hoenn Leaders in the Pokémon World Tournament that can be battled in either the Hoenn Leaders or World Leaders Tournaments. Winona is skilled in using Flying type Pokémon. Altaria has 2 combos; Cotton Guard to raise its Defense stat and Roost to restore HP along with Sing to put opponents to sleep and Dream Eater to steal their HP. Pelipper will use Tailwind to speed its team up for 3 turns and Hurricane to confuse opponents. Swellow will use Double Team to become harder to hit and Brave Bird for big damage while hurting itself in the process. Skarmory will use Stealth Rock to hurt anyone switching out and Roar to force switching out. Tropius will use Leech Seed to steal some HP from opponents every turn and Substitute to use its own HP to foil opposing attacks. Honchkrow will use Icy Wind to slow opponents down and Night Slash for critical hits. Moves like Ice Beam and Thunderbolt would be good uses for this battle.

After going a distance, you’ll meet up with one of the townsfolk, who will offer you something to buy. The red gunmen tend to step forward and step back after shooting, and they have more stamina than the green counterparts. After defeating a few more, a member of the townsfolk will offer more items to buy. Once you navigate the desert long enough, you’ll battle against the Cutte. The opponent will throw boomerangs that travel randomly across the screen, so be sure to get into position carefully. Defeat this boss and you’ll advance to the next stage.

Save your game before you interact with it. Giratina is on Level 70. Its signature move is Shadow Force. The user evades all of the opponent’s moves by vanishing the first turn and striking the next turn. Shadow Force will strike even if the target uses Protect or Detect. Dusk Balls are recommended to capture the opposing legendary.

Once you reach Virbank City, enter the gym and you’ll hear a band playing. The band is so loud that Roxie won’t even notice you unless you defeat both her drummer and guitarist. Once both band members are quieted down, you’ll be able to battle Roxie. Roxie uses Poison type Pokémon. Koffing will use Smog to poison targets and Assurance if the target has already received damage that turn. Whirlipede will use Protect to avoid attacks and Rollout to hit consecutively for 5 turns as every successive hit gets stronger. After the battle, you’ll receive the Toxic Badge and a TM09 (Venoshock). If the target is poisoned, Venoshock will do double the damage.

This gym has icy floors that cause the person to skate until touching a clean floor. You’ll battle some trainers as you skate. Navigate the floors and you’ll battle the gym leader. Pryce uses Ice type Pokémon. Seel and Dewgong will use Headbutt to sometimes make targets flinch. They will even use Rest to fully recover when running out of HP. Piloswine will use Blizzard to cause massive damage and even freeze targets. After winning, you’ll receive the Glacier Badge and a TM16 (Icy Wind). Icy Wind causes damage and lowers the target’s Speed stat.
