As you explore the Tower of Zot, navigate the mazes on each floor and the Magus Sisters will come in to challenge you. Sandy, Cindy, and Mindy will cast reflect spells that will bounce back your magic attacks. If all 3 of them are still around, they will combine for a random spell attack. If one of the sisters is gone, it can return in a matter of a few turns, so be sure to attack the sister one by one. After the battle, continue to ascend the tower.

After beating the Elite Four, you’ll battle Cynthia. She has a full team with Pokémon knowing all sorts of great moves. Spiritomb will lead off with Embargo to prevent opponent from using items for 5 turns. It will also use Dark Pulse to make targets flinch and raise its stats using Silver Wind. Roserade will use Sludge Bomb to poison opponents and make them flinch using Extrasensory. Gastrodon will use Muddy Water to make opponents less accurate and Stone Edge for more critical hits. Lucario will use a never-miss move, Aura Sphere. If you use special attacks too much against Milotic, it will use Mirror Coat. Garchomp will be the tough part as its Dragon Rush move can make targets flinch 30% of the time as it strikes. After the battle, you’ll unlock some post-game quests.

After you have all 16 badges, you have access to go to Mt. Silver. Enter the Silver Cave and explore the area until you reach the deepest part of the cave. In the deepest part of the cave, you’ll meet the toughest trainer in the game, Red. Pikachu will use Charm to lower Attack power then use Thunder to paralyze targets as well as finish them off with Quick Attack. Espeon will use Reflect to weaken physical attack damage for 5 turns and use Mud-Slap to lower the target’s Accuracy. Snorlax will use Body Slam to paralyze targets and even use Snore after using Rest. Venusaur will combo by using Sunny Day and SolarBeam. When its HP runs low, it will use Synthesis to recover. Blastoise will combo by using Rain Dance and Surf. Its Blizzard can freeze opponents sometimes even while you’re battling with Grass types. When Charizard uses Fire Spin or when Blastoise uses Whirlpool, there’s no escape for 2-5 turns. The levels in this battle are very high so Mt. Silver is the key place to train before this battle.

Nimbasa City’s gym has roller coasters to ride on but some release trainers. Ride your way through on the tracks of each color and you’ll reach the gym leader. Elesa uses Electric type Pokémon. Both Emolga will use Quick Attack for first strikes, Pursuit on those who try to switch out, and Aerial Ace for never miss strikes. Zebstrika will use Spark to paralyze opponents and Flame Charge to speed itself up. After the battle, you’ll receive the Bolt Badge and a TM72 (Volt Switch). When Volt Switch strikes, the user switches out for another Pokémon on its team.

In this level, you’ll take a pipe to go underground. There are 2 Goombas under a set of ? Blocks at the beginning. Between sets of hard walls is a garbage block containing multiple coins. Go by some Koopas and Goombas then you’ll see Piranha Plants lurking from the pipes. Go down one of the pipes to enter a bonus room for more coins. Go back up and you’ll see 2 Goombas coming down the stairway. Between platforms going up and down is a landing with a red Koopa. Unlike the green ones, the red Koopas don’t fall off edges. If you go above the ceiling, you’ll enter the Warp Zone that has pipes to go to Worlds 2, 3, and 4. If you stay on the ground, go through the pipe by the wall to return to the surface and climb the big stairway to reach the flagpole.

After completing the Spear Pillar mission, you can enter Sunyshore City. This gym has mechanical floors that can be rotated by pressing the switches. After you align the gears properly, you’ll reach the gym leader. Raichu will use Light Screen to reduce special attack damage for 5 turns and Thunder Wave to paralyze opponents. Ambipom will use Nasty Plot then Agility to raise its stats and Baton Pass to switch out while the effects are kept intact. Octillery will use Octazooka to make opponents less accurate and hit them multiple times with Bullet Seed. Luxray will use Crunch to lower the target’s Defense stat and make them flinch or paralyzed with Thunder Fang. After the battle, you’ll receive the Beacon Badge and a TM57 (Charge Beam). Charge Beam has a 70% chance of raising the user’s Special Attack stat.
