Two days of widespread protests in Senegal, the parliament has voted to postpone the presidential election until December 10. Opposition MPs tried to block the vote, which seeks to allow the current administration to remain in power longer, at least until the next election.

A routine traffic stop for a seatbelt violation descended into a one-sided gun battle as police emptied nearly 100 rounds into a man in Chicago. Dexter Reed was stopped by a plain clothes police officer on March 21 after he was spotted, allegedly, not wearing a seatbelt.
All officers involved have been placed on leave while the incident is investigated.
