Always a great privilege to find @samuelashton5497 playing his music in Brighton Laines. Busking
I was again impressed with his music. A great song and vocals! Samuel Ashton burst onto the music scene in Kent with the sold out release show for 2019's debut release Spreading Light. Samuel's soulful blues and country tones have seen him sell out headline shows in London, Brighton and throughout the south east. He's seen support from BBC airplay and local radio stations and magazines. Big things lie ahead for the Kent-based Soul Man.
2021 sees Samuel Ashton emerging from a world of covered faces with a message to "Breathe Easy" with "Stillness in the face of adversity" as the soulful sounds of his voice accompanied by the warmth of the brass tones wash over you within the first few bars it's clear an artist has arrived, with a message of hope.
With the release of the new single and accompanying EP on the way, it's clear Samuel's horizons are broadening. The new record has brought together a talented team of musicians from all over the world culminating in a sound that echoes classic soul and modern soul influenced artists such as The Teskey Brothers with whom Samuel shares New York based trombone player Ernest Stuart on title track "Breathe Easy"; to a sound that takes you deep into the pine forests with the mythical imagery of the country tones of the EP's closing track "Rea" made ever more authentic by the haunting sound of Spanish sessionist Monica Viñoly's violin.

Ren is a very talented singer, songwriter, producer, rapper and multi-instrumentalist. He is a member of The Big Push Band and also has played together with various musicians and buskers. He is a very well-known face around Brighton’s busking scene and has been performing to ecstatic crowds for years, with early beginnings in the music industry coming when he was discovered performing on the streets of Bath, as part of indie-pop band Trick the Fox.
Despite having built a loyal fan base, due to health issues, Ren was forced to halt his music endeavours and move home to Brighton. During what he describes as ‘a time of isolation’, Ren was bed-bound for years having been diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
After channelling his frustration into song writing and producing from his bedroom, Ren is now going to do an specific treatment for the disease. Once he is 100%, he will be ready to share more of his amazing music/art with the world.

About The Big Push band, Brighton based band The Big Push consists of three front men Ren, Romain Axisa and Gorran Kendall and drummer Glenn Chambers. Drawing elements from classic brit-bands like The Beatles or The Police, they craft their clever modern arrangements into catchy pop tunes. Playing rock n roll, with a crazed kind of energy and authentic sound, The Big Push met busking in Brighton. Coming from four fairly different backgrounds, they have managed to create an authentic and original sound.
The four-piece sold out their first ever official hometown show at Chalk last October, and followed up with a full-capacity o2 Academy Islington headline in March 2020, just before lockdown hit the UK. Over the last year the boys have created quite a buzz both nationally and to more worldwide acclaim amassing over 1.2 Million streams on Spotify and 12 Million views on YouTube. Fukushima Dolphin is a duo Pop/Rock/Psychedelic/electronic based in Brighton (UK). They have been playing in the current line-up for 2 years. In the two years they have played hundreds of gigs and produced their first Ep " The Furry Side EP".

People are asking if The Big Push has really come to an everlasting end.
Watch some rare, never seen before footage on this video we`ve made. You can watch Ren `s emotional speech during their last busking session in Brighton Ship St. and also, during the sold out gig they played at Brighton Dome in September 2022 and try to draw some conclusions. It explains the reasons why the band disbanded but... unfortunately, we don`t really know if we`ll ever see the band back together again.
