The paper reported: “The solicitation came in an envelope featuring a return address in official government type and the words ‘check enclosed. The ‘check’ was a fake check made out to Cruz’s campaign, accompanied by a missive asking the recipient to send in a ‘matching donation.’ “ Last year, Texas House Bill 1265 was passed that required solicitations resembling government notices, checks or negotiable invoices to include, “in at least 18-point type,” the words “SPECIMEN-NON-NEGOTIABLE.” The Cruz mailer says in 6-point type – 1/3 of the legal size – “this check is a facsimile not redeemable or negotiable and has no cash value.” This is the law in Cruz’s home state, Texas – the state where he served as Solicitor General – the chief lawyer in the state. In the past month, Cruz has been caught lying about not having health insurance, lying about why he doesn’t tithe at his church, lying about his position on amnesty for illegals, and a stack of lies about Donald Trump. Even Fox News has called him out for lying about President Obama’s record on jobs. I do not say this lightly – Ted Cruz is THE most dangerous candidate who has run for President in the last 10 years, excepting Hillary Clinton and Al Gore. As I dubbed him 2 months ago and got a lot of negative blowback for it – Ted Cruz is literally Clinton 3.0. America cannot afford to elect another habitual liar as president. One person was killed and 10 wounded this morning after a sniper opened fire from a forest overlooking the ancient citadel in Derbent, the southern-most city in Russia. Russia’s Investigative Committee – their equivalent of the FBI – said that a group had climbed up to the observation deck of the citadel when shots rang out about 11:30 am local time. More than 60 spent cartridges were later found in the forest, but the perpetrator escaped. Derbent is an ancient crossroads city about 600 miles north of Tehran, Iran. It sits at the southern end of the Russian Republic of Dagestan. The citadel is a Unesco World Heritage site with walls dating to the 6th century. It has the best roads between the Middle East and Russia in the narrow area between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. Dagestan has been plagued by a long-running Islamic insurgency with frequent violent attacks. Recently militants have announced their loyalty is to ISIS or ISIL. ISIS has recruited hundreds of militants from the region to fight in Syria and Iraq. Part of Russian President Vsadimir Putin’s justification for mounting air strikes in Syria was to bomb hardened ISIS fighters from the region before they returned to strike at home. Going inside the numbers is a bit troubling for the poll’s legitimacy, however, Daybreak reported that although Trump surged in the 35-64 crowd and the 65 and over crowd, the 18-34 crowd saw a significant jump in Clinton’s popularity in the last 2 days. In the 35-64 crowd, Trump gained 1.6% in the last 2 days, while Clinton last 1.7% - a 2-day swing of 3.3%.
