Controversial Clinical Trial Requires Patients Pay $1M Cash & Travel to Colombia for Experimental Gene Therapy.
We take a closer look at an obscure physician practice in Colombia, where those who are seeking to “reverse the aging process are invited to participate in a Phase I gene therapy clinical trial. Seeking 5 patients, the American-based biotech sponsoring the study seeks to expedite the clinical trials process by avoiding FDA jurisdictional rules and guidance. The participants must pay $1 million to join this study. The experimental gene therapy premise: extend one’s telomeres to prevent, delay, or even reverse aging.

In October of 2021, then mayor of New York City Bill De Blasio instituted a vaccine mandate for all of the city’s municipal workers. The question at the time was whether De Blasio was sacrificing safety in the city for the mandate. As of the due date for vaccination, 80% of the New York City Police Force had been vaccinated, and 72% of New York City Firemen complied with the mandate. The De Blasio administration faced several lawsuits, over the vaccine authorization and the mandate continued when De Blasio left office and Eric Adams became mayor. Adams later lifted the vaccine requirement for athletes and the private sector but not for municipal workers. However, the lawsuits against the city from cops and firemen over the mandate continued. But now, there’s been a shift in New York City’s Covid requirement policy.

#MedinCell’s Mission for ‘Mass Roll-out’ of #Ivermectin for COVID-19: Early Study Data Points Reveal Promise:
TrialSite News first introduced Montpellier, France-based MedinCell, and their efforts to commercialize an ivermectin-based treatment for COVID-19 back in April. The French biotech company now reports positive first results from a clinical trial aiming at the validating the safety of continuous administration of ivermectin. Presented at an international “Collaborative Workshop—Ivermectin against COVID-19,” MedinCell reports no side effects observed with the first two doses in the study, which totals three doses. And so, they announced via press release that a first long-acting injectable formulation is ready to enter regulatory development. Embracing a prophylactic strategy, the company seeks to mimic the approach taken against HIV: “preexposure prophylaxis” (PrEP) evidencing efficacy as well as the need for long-acting injectable treatments, as the are the only ones that guarantee the continuity of protection. This French company also explores a “postexposure prophylaxis” (PEP) effort for established close contact with COVID-19.

Real-World Retrospective Exposure-Crossover Study of 70K+ Patients Reveals Most Frequent Complications Associated with COVID-19:
A sizable retrospective study involving the University of Buffalo, Aetion, Inc., HealthVerity, Inc. and the University of Toronto confirms a significant number of complications associated with COVID-19. Published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), the team used de-identified outpatient and inpatient medical claims from American health databases to identify 70,288 patients who were infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind COVID-19. Covering a duration from March 1 to April 30, 2020 over half of the health visits involved hospitalization, with about 5% of the total admitted into intensive care. With a median age of 65 and 55.8% female the authors studied a plethora of medical codes targeting those that increased in number post pandemic onset. Sure enough this real world evidence (RWE)-based study found that the most frequent complications associated with COVID-19 included pneumonia, respiratory failure, kidney failure and sepsis or systemic inflammation. These findings aligned with other observations. Overall, the risk associated with a patient with COVID-19 succumbing to these more serious ailments equaled 27.6% for pneumonia, 22.6% for respiratory failure, 11.8% kidney failure and 10.4% associated with sepsis or systemic inflammation.
Additionally these researchers found other real world evidence, although rare in associa

Escalating tensions in Eagle Pass, Texas, where the Texas National Guard has taken unprecedented action by seizing control of Shelby Park and denying U.S. Border Patrol agents entry. Governor Greg Abbott's emergency order has sparked a legal battle with the federal government, challenging the state's authority over immigration enforcement. This bold move comes in response to allegations of Border Patrol agents cutting state-installed razor wire, intended to curb illegal immigration. With a record 2.5 million border crossings in 2023, Texas stands firm in its efforts to manage the crisis, despite federal criticism.

Today we’ll be touching on a tough subject, Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord.
Essentially, the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body. Eventually, the disease can cause permanent damage or deterioration of the nerves.
So, what does this mean? Symptoms range from numbness or weakness one your limbs, electric-shock sensations that occur with certain neck movements, tremors, lack of coordination, and can cause visions like partial, or complete loss of vision.
Melanie who herself is suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. She was diagnosed Sept 20 2019 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida. Since then she has uncovered an entire community, or more appropriately, a family of thousands of people struggling with this autoimmune disease. She has become an advocate for MS patients, and so we have brought her on to talk with us about her illness.

Do doctors have the right to quote research results, even if they are disputed, challenged, or represent some controversial stance opposed to a formal government position? What if the data is the result from their own research or real-world care? The answer around the world, is ever increasingly no, as national governments pressure medical professional licensing bodies and health systems, indirectly, to punish any medical providers that promulgate “misinformation.”

Fact Checking the Fact Checkers: The Case of #Ivermectin for Publicly-Subsidized Research:
On December 11, TrialSite News reported on a US Senate hearing at which, among other things, there was testimony urgently calling for more research and an EUA for Ivermectin as both a prophylactic against and an early treatment for #COVID-19. As we recently covered, there is mounting evidence in support of these uses, and definitely for government-sponsored research, for this cheap and safe drug. One media account we did not address was a December 10 “fact check” by the Associated Press (AP) in collaboration with Facebook titled, “No evidence Ivermectin is a miracle drug against COVID-19.” In this piece, the AP relies on old protocols and also ignores newer evidence, showing an excessive deference to official edicts over honestly looking at the medical evidence. The #AP author doesn’t do her homework as is elaborated on below. Based on accumulating data and growing evidence, the case for publicly-funded investigation into Ivermectin is compelling. Does AP represent a particular agenda in that particular piece? Does power, politics, and money influence which research gets funded in the midst of the pandemic?
