#1- When Gringos lose their cool!
Things are different here in Latin America (that’s why so many of us are here). One can’t help notice that in many ways it’s like another world. Even upon arrival at the airport and especially if you fly in on a Latin based airline like TACA, COPA or AVIANCA you will see the differences. Though some Gringos and Expats do NOT always appreciate certain lax things about the culture and thus occasionally lose their cool... in public. Thankfully for most of us, the longer we live in Latin America the less uptight we feel about the annoyances and inefficiencies … for most of us that is. As for the cadre of inflexible gringos and expats? Well, you can expect to see the occasional gringo get so frustrated he’ll go into a pointless rant and lose it. Just a heads-up here.
#2- Those “iffy” WATER supplies in Latin America and how to deal with them:
Today by popular demand, we go into detail what you need to know about purifying your own H2O
#3- Owning Gold in Latin America- Part 4
#4- Cov-idiot rules concerning Latin American Airports:
Things are opening up and here’s the latest dope
#5 Get a 100% legal (and well respected) 2nd Country Passport online and in just 60 days!
The Corona virus has killed Latin American and Caribbean Island tourism so tax revenues have dried up. Governments are broke and a small few have reacted by offering passport by investment programs. I have personally vetted the best legit one. Amazingly, you can apply online without wasting time or repeatedly flying back and forth to the country. That’s a first! For details email; theexpatfiles@gmail.com and listen to the complete explanation outlined in “The Expat Files” show program aired on June 28, 2020.
#6- Want to get into Crypto-currencies but don’t feeling quite confident enough to dive in?
Our own Captain Mango has developed a unique one-on-one Crypto consulting and training service (he’s been deep into crypto since 2013). To get started, email him at:

#7- Be sure to pick up my new and revised, "LATIN AMERICAN HEALTHCARE REPORT":
The new edition for 2020 (and beyond) is available now, including the latest "Stem Cell Clinic" info and dat

Dr. Carol Queen returned to the show for Part 2. The two sex docs had a lively conversation about yesterday’s Supreme Court’s decision affirming that workplace civil-rights protections extend to gay and transgender people. Dr. Carol reported the LGBTQ activists are thrilled! And that there seems to be a dent in people’s denial. Next on the agenda: Exhibitionism for the Shy, a book that Dr. Carol wrote some twenty-five years ago – with an updated version coming soon. Exhibitionism is a consensual erotic pleasure that can help you overcome shyness and body image issues. There are some fun exercises – showing off and exploring different styles of erotic clothing with an eye to what feels sexiest to you. Dr. Carol observes that what you look like to others is not as important as how you feel experiencing eroticism and pleasure. Dr. Carol and Dr. Diana both knew and loved Candida Royalle who died of ovarian cancer in 2015. We reminisced about Candice, and spoke about our friend Nina Hartley. Nina has been a porn star for 35 years and a video sex educator for almost as long, and wrote a blurb recommending my new book, Love in the Time of Corona: Advice from a Sex Therapist for Couples in Quarantine. Good Vibrations (www.GoodVibes.com) is promoting Men’s Health Week – including men’s sexual health. Also, visit my new online sex advice column at www.DearDrDiana.com. Curcumin suppresses aldosterone-induced CRP generation in
Hebei University of Chinese Medicine (China), September 2, 2020
According to news reporting from Shijiazhuang, People’s Republic of China, research stated, “Aldosterone regulates the initiation and development of atherosclerosis which is identified as a chronic inflammatory disease by promoting the generation of C-reactive protein in vascular smooth muscle cells.”
Our news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Hebei University of Chinese Medicine: “Curcumin is the most active ingredient of turmeric with anti-inflammation and antioxidation effects. Here, the effect of curcumin on aldosterone-induced C-reactive protein generation in vascular smooth muscle and the molecular mechanisms involved were explored. Primary rat vascular smooth muscle cells and hyperaldosteronism model rats were used in this study. The amount of C-reactive protein, reactive oxygen species, and the signaling pathway-related molecules generated were estimated. We found that curcumin inhibited aldosterone-induced C-reactive protein generation in vascular smooth muscle cells by interfering with the reactive oxygen species-ERK1/2 signal pathway.”
According to the news reporters, the research concluded: “The results provide new evidence for the potential anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular protective effects of curcumin.”
Meta-analysis finds DHA and EPA have similar anti-inflammatory effects
Laval University (Quebec), August 26, 2020
According to news originating from Quebec City, Canada, research stated, “Recent data from randomized clinical trials (RCTs) suggest that DHA may have stronger anti-inflammatory effects than EPA. This body of evidence has not yet been quantitatively reviewed.”
Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Laval University, “The aim of this study was to compare the effect of DHA and EPA on several markers of systemic inflammation by pairwise and network meta-analyses of RCTs. MEDLINE, EMBASE, and The Cochrane Library were searched through to September 2019. We included RCTs of 7 d on adults regardless of health status that directly compared the effects of DHA with EPA and RCTs of indirect comparisons, in which the effects of DHA or EPA were compared individually to a control fatty acid. Differences in circulating concentrations of C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) and adiponectin were the primary outcome measures. Data were pooled by pairwise and network meta-analysis and expressed as mean differences (MDs) with 95% CIs. Heterogeneity was assessed (Cochran Q statistic) and quantified (I2 statistic) in the pairwise m

Tamara Bedić, Jerold Friedman, Jordi Casamitjana: Vegan Discrimination Cases, Part I
Tamara Bedić, is an ethical vegan, animal rescuer, employment attorney. Tamara is a past-President of the National Lawyers Guild, NYC chapter. She is chair of the Animal Rights Committee. When she’s not championing the rights of women in the workplace, she is organizing webinars or rescuing birds in distress. She is ‘Mom’ to two FIV+ tom cats.
Jerold “Jerry” Friedman is vegan, an animal rights activist, and California attorney. Jerry was not yet a law student when he challenged South California Permanente Group (commonly known as Kaiser Permanente) for rescinding their employment offer after he refused a mandatory MMR vaccine. Later, as co-plaintiff with Viva!USA (the American arm of Viva!UK), Jerry won a lawsuit against Adidas from selling shoes made of kangaroo skin in California that violated California’s endangered species law. Jerry is founder of the Animal Law Practitioner listserv that helps animal attorneys from across the USA collaborate and a long-time member of the National Lawyers Guild.
Jordi Casamitjana is an ethical vegan, activist and author of (among other things) Ethical Vegan: A Personal and Political Journey to Change the World. Born in Spain but living in the UK, Jordi is a zoologist with a special love for wasps. Jordi was surprised to discover his pension fund at League Against Cruel Sports was supporting unethical industries– e.g. tobacco, oil and pharmaceutical companies that tested on animals. This is the official link of the rulings on his case.

Four plaintiffs and three lawyers will discuss vegan discrimination cases in the U.S., UK, Canada and France. The laws of these countries differ, but the common goal is having ethical veganism recognized as a “creed” or “ethical belief” worthy of protection from discrimination. The ethical vegans who will be speaking about their individual cases are: Jerold Friedman, Jordi Casamitjana, Adam Knauff and Astrid Prevost.
