A personal journey of seven years for me, to find an ARM based machine that can perform the tasks I need without appearing to be slow. The candidates: the Raspberry PI 2, Odroid C2, Odroid XU4, Asus Tinkerboard, Raspberry PI 3, Odroid N2, Raspberry Pi 4, Khadas VIM 3, Odroid N2+. and now the Odroid-M1 is being put to the test., does it have what it takes? Or...do I continue on with my search. I don't know what it is, something about the small form factor, low power draw, low cost and the ability to run Linux. For five years now these devices have been my home lab servers, oh yeah I have two Intel Nucs where I run my virtual machines, but the one place I have never been successful to find a machine that will support the workloads I throw at them is the Linux Desktop. In this episode of the CyberGizmo I am taking an in depth look at FreeBSD 13.2 Release. Talking about some the of the major changes to the release of this UNIX-like operating system.
