Darius Nikbin - Rise of the Machines: Our Techno Future?
Darius Nikbin discusses his book 'The Universal Subject of Our Time (Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Machine)'.
In the dialectic of man versus machine, can machines ever become more than glorified number crunchers? How would we know if a machine was actually beginning to think? If it did, might it eventually develop self-awareness and if so, might it also develop self-interest? What if its interests conflicted with ours? In the context of scientific optimism versus post-modern pessimism, we ponder whether artificial intelligence can deliver on its promise of tackling social and economic problems and enhancing our lives, or whether its ultimate threat of a subjugated or even annihilated humanity could one day come to pass. Machines are doing more and more of what used to be the work of the human mind, reducing us to shallower thinking and understanding. In the drive to develop the ever more complex and autonomous technological matrix within which we are increasingly subsumed, is the human race being lost?
Grafton Tanner discusses his book Babbling Corpse – Vaporwave and the Commodification of Ghosts. The age of global capitalism promised all things to everyone; a world of techno-utopian fantasies embellished by endless entertainment, copious consumerism, and instant communication. As the 20th Century finally gave way to the 21st, corporate central control offered a vision of a future free from war, fear, and limitation. In societies increasingly devoid of meaning and purpose, we bought into the promise of this digital dreamland with religious zeal. The future, however, is turning out to be far from that envisioned in the ivory towers of industry imagineers. The events of 9/11 and subsequent years of the so-called 'war on terror', and the seismic shock of the 2008 financial crash and it's fatal fallout have left America, the West in general, and many other regions of the world reeling with no end in sight and with the milk and honey promises of the past in tatters.
Taking Vaporwave – a nascent musical micro-genre – as our starting point, we explore its parodies of popular culture, the changing face of a music business in meltdown, global capitalism's effect on art, the insidious side-effects of the electronic media which pervade our lives, the death of the old and emergence of new meaning in society, the burgeoning nostalgia industry, and our post-millennial obsession with a past which now resembles nothing less than a vanished golden age.

Geologist Robert Schoch on his recent book Forgotten Civilization: The Role of Solar Outbursts in Our Past and Future.
Building upon Schoch's revolutionary theory that the Sphinx dates back much further than 2500 BCE, Forgotten Civilization reveals scientific evidence of advanced civilization predating ancient Egypt, Sumeria, and Greece, as well as the catastrophe that destroyed it nearly 12,000 years ago and what its legacy can teach us about our own future.
Weaving together a new view of the origins of civilization, the truths behind ancient wisdom, and the dynamics of the planet we live on, Schoch maintains we must heed the megalithic warning of the past and collectively prepare for future events.
Topics discussed include: global warming and climate change, the ice age, evolution, astronomy, cosmoclimatology, solar and plasma outbursts, ancient Egypt, Easter Island, Göbekli Tepe, megalithic monuments, the Biblical flood, Atlantis and lost civilizations, apocalyptic myths and legends, Quantum physics, and 2012.

Courtney Brown discusses The Farsight Institute’s latest project Aliens On Iapetus. This remote viewing documentary focuses on what appears to be a huge set of structures on the surface of Iapetus, a moon of Saturn. The apparent structures are clearly visible in a photograph that was taken by the Cassini space probe that still orbits Saturn. We now know what these things are, who built them, and why. We also know what happened to those who stayed there, and how they died. This was not a military outpost, not a spy base, nor an industrial or mining location. It is actually more amazing than anything anyone could have imagined.
The project’s findings also pose some fascinating questions: How similar were the beings on Iapetus to ourselves, and can their story teach us anything about our own past and possible future? Could it be that life in the solar system did not begin on Earth but on other planets long cold and dead or even completely destroyed? And does our selective blindness to the cosmic catastrophes of high antiquity obscure terrible truths now all but lost in the mists of time? Cutting edge physics and emerging research into psychic phenomena might just offer some answers.

Review of 'COVID-19: The Great Reset' by Klaus Schwab and Thierry Malleret.
The pandemic of 2020 has instigated massive changes in almost every aspect of our lives. Millions of jobs have been lost and entire industries reduced to ruin. Every level of society has been affected. Meanwhile, crises in global systems have been deepening for decades. Tipping points in the financial system, energy supply, and the environment loom ever larger. In the spirit of never letting a crisis go to waste, will COVID-19 be used as a vehicle to usher in political, economic and social change on an unprecedented scale?
From 'The Great Reset' section of the World Economic Forum website:
“The Covid-19 crisis, and the political, economic and social disruptions it has caused, is fundamentally changing the traditional context for decision-making. The inconsistencies, inadequacies and contradictions of multiple systems - from health and financial to energy and education - are more exposed than ever amidst a global context of concern for lives, livelihoods and the planet. Leaders find themselves at a historic crossroads, managing short-term pressures against medium and long-term uncertainties.
As we enter a unique window of opportunity to shape the recovery, this initiative will offer insights to help inform all those determining the future state of global relations, the direction of national economies, the priorities of societies, the nature of business models and the management of a global commons. Drawing from the vision and vast expertise of the leaders engaged across the Forum’s communities, the Great Reset initiative has a set of dimensions to build a new social contract that honours the dignity of every human being.”

The Apollo program, also known as Project Apollo, was the third human spaceflight program carried out by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the program was responsible for the landing of the first humans on Earth's Moon in 1969. First conceived during the Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower as a three-man spacecraft to follow the one-man Project Mercury which put the first Americans in space, Apollo was later dedicated to President John F. Kennedy's national goal of "landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth" by the end of the 1960s. Kennedy's goal was apparently accomplished on the Apollo 11 mission when astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed their Lunar Module on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Five subsequent Apollo missions reportedly landed astronauts on the Moon, the last in December 1972.
However, beginning just a couple of years after the final Moon landing, doubts began to emerge about certain details of these missions and even as to whether any of them had taken place at all. Skeptics expressed many concerns about the feasibility of the missions: photographs taken on and around the Moon appeared to display many anomalies; questions were raised about the technology of mission control, the spacecraft itself, and the space suits, and whether any of it was actually up to the task; there were concerns about radiation, not just on the Moon itself but within the Van Allen belt which circles the Earth, a deadly radioactive zone some say would be impossible to traverse. And, of course, there is the question as to why man has never since returned to the Moon. Surely with today's vastly superior technology, this would be much easier to achieve.
Despite being refuted in some detail by NASA and a host of other agencies and individuals over the years, the idea that the manned Moon missions were staged just will not go away. Critics argue that skeptics are simply distrustful of government in general and that the Moon landings serve as sort of poster boy for them. But there are compelling reasons as to why a government would want to pull a stunt like this, and with the debate as heated as ever, it would appear that just one thing will silence the doubters for good.

Why are we here? Where do we come from? Where are we going? These are eternal questions which humanity is compelled to ask but may never answer.
Are we merely born to buy? To consume and die? Is it in our nature to destroy ourselves? Is war our destiny? Or is there some greater purpose and grand design which lies beyond our primitive instincts?
The Earth appears to be descending ever deeper into chaos, but is the disorder and destruction simply part of a larger process?
From the nature of reality to the future of humanity, Legalise Freedom asks these questions and more, offering the listener alternative views on a wide range of topics.

National Health Federation president Scott Tips on Codex Alimentarius and the threat to health freedom. Increasingly draconian restrictions are being placed on vitamins and other food supplements at a time when a growing number of people are beginning to take health care and illness prevention into their own hands. Avoidance of institutionalized healthcare is likely to increase as long as corporate influence on government continues and the medical establishment holds the interests of pharmaceutical corporations and other related businesses over those of the individual.
Background
The Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), based inRome,Italy, is an international organization jointly created by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) of the United Nations. The Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Use (CCNFSDU) is responsible for Dietary Supplements and Medical Foods and is one of some 27 separate Codex committees. The CCNFSDU meets annually and the National Health Federation is a Codex-recognized organization with the right to attend and speak out at these meetings. Established in 1955, the National Health Federation is an international nonprofit, consumer-education, health-freedom organization working to protect individuals' rights to choose to consume healthy food, take supplements and use alternative therapies without government restrictions.
The purpose of Codex is to provide a forum to facilitate global trade in foods and promote consumer food safety by developing science based standards and guidelines for use by member countries. Codex guidelines and standards are automatically implemented by the General Agreement on Trade & Tariffs (GATT) of the WHO and become binding for all international trade among GATT signatory countries.
The National Health Federation opposes the current Codex member states who wrongly believe that consumer health will be enhanced by: (1) denying that dietary supplements can benefit normal, healthy people; (2) incorrectly defining dietary supplements as only those vitamins and minerals that the body cannot manufacture itself; (3) restricting the upper-limit amounts of vitamins and minerals, particularly by referring to currently-crude and archaic medical beliefs about nutrients; (4) restricting any physiological benefit information for consumers; (5) restricting the lower-limit amounts of vitamins and minerals that may be consumed by individuals; and (6) creating 'positive' and 'negative' lists of dietary supplements.
The current direction of Codex is off course and is unfortunately driven by a statist and elitist mentality that thinks it knows what is best for consumer health and protection. This mindset comes from the 193

Ben Reynolds discusses his book 'The Coming Revolution: Capitalism in the 21st Century'. Radical advances in automation, robotics, and computer technology have thrown millions out of work and will only continue to do so in the years to come. At the same time, cheap, individually-accessible machines will wrestle for primacy with both advanced, highly-automated factories and sweatshops alike, ultimately eroding the dominance of industrial production. Economic growth is slowing down, and it is not going to speed up again. The pressures fueling today's global unrest will not go away and are only going to get worse as wages stagnate, solid employment becomes harder to find, and cuts to social benefits continue. Competing radical and reactionary ideologies will clash as political consensus crumbles and the world searches for answers to these challenges.
In its opening decades, the 21st will be a century of war and revolution. By the end of the 21st century, capitalism may be consigned to the history books. Despite the seeming darkness of our era, our future is filled with incredible possibilities. A world of freedom, beauty, and abundance, where poverty and tyranny are merely distant memories for our grandchildren, is possible.
