Here’s a slick way to bypass QSO forwarding and let GridTracker do the work. Also, GridTracker can do the heavy lifting when it comes to uploading to online logs like eQSL, QRZ.com and HRD.net. Here’s how…
I'm an Amateur Radio enthusiast. I love the hobby and experimenting with radios, antennas and software. I have a lot of fun. On my YouTube channel I upload videos mostly on the Icom 7300 and Icom 7610 as well as Ham Radio software programs. I hope to inspire people to get involved in Amateur Radio.
This is just one of the many popular activities to enjoy a QuartzFest.

SEE MY ARTICLE FOR A FULL EXPLANATION: http://www.k0pir.us/alpha-moto-mobile-antenna/
I purchased my Alpha MOTO mobile antenna off of E-Bay back in January of this year. It appealed to me because it was advertised as a 6 - 40 Meter mobile antenna.
With the 102" whip, I'm pretty happy with 15, 17 and 20 meters. I'm using an Icom 7000 and LDG IT-100 auto tuner in the mobile.
I'm sorry to say, but I never had much luck making contacts on 40 meters, even with the 13 ft whip and a counterpoise. It could just be poor band conditions, but I really think my Hustler 40 meter antenna worked better.
Approx. 800 QSO's logged with my Alpha MOTO using it for NPOTA as of 9/28/16.

The radio in my truck is a Kenwood TS 480, the high power one and I have a scorpion antenna mounted on the side.
The radio in my camper is the icon 7300 and I have Ameritron solid-state amplifier. The antenna is the HiQ mobile antenna. #rvlifestyle #hamradio

Wow! What a smooth, quiet radio. Picking up from yesterday I have included in this clip how to get N1MM Logger+ connected to your Icom 7160. We're using one USB cable and the virtual COM ports on the 7610.
MMTTY, EXTFSK64, N1MM Logger+ Spectrum Display, RTTY (FSK) and CW included.
Please see my previous video on Virtual Serial Ports in the IC-7610. https://youtu.be/PeIkasYQelI

Operating from my vehicle in Badlands National Park for the ARRL National Parks On The Air. I'm using an Icom 7000 and Alpha MOTO antenna mounted on my roof rack. The latop is a Lenovo P580 and I'm using HRD to log QSOs.
If you're interested in mobile operation I can recommend the Icom 7000. It's a good all around transceiver, has an easy to read LCD, nice tx audio using the stock mic and a very good manual notch filter, NB and NR. With a little practice anyone can become proficient with it. With the detachable control head you can probably find a nice location to mount it. Mine is mounted with a flexible RAM mount attached to my front seat bolt. The main unit is located behind my center console and I have an external speaker mounted on the pillar on the driver's side where the upper portion of the seat belt attaches. (See video)
This is in the early afternoon and I am able to make 20 QSOs in the 9 minute clip.
Stations: KC3BZJ, N6ORB, N7TCO, KS7U, AC8XI, N3GAR, KS4X, WA9OEC,, KM4HQE, AK2L, WP2RIS, K6PGH, WA2VQW, N6HC, NM9P, K7TM, N9RJM, AA5VU, K9ICP and W9AV.

Did you ever just want to sit back and listen to your favorite net in comfort? Here’s my solution. Of course most of the time I revert back to the ICOM internal speaker, but this is a excellent alternative for those relaxing times.
