Liz and Tarah have the pleasure of connecting with Henrietta Woodcox and diving into her delightful and refreshing world of not only handbells, but grounded optimism and a sense that all is right with the world.
Henrietta is a 12x National Champion Handbell Choir Director & Master Artist. She first fell in love with the handbells at the Aledo United Methodist Church, in Aledo, TX. She is on a mission to amplify the beautiful art form of the handbells, which is a symbol of unity and world peace. She is the inspiration behind the upcoming hit comedy, Henrietta & The Southern Bells, written by Carmen Scott & Lynna Yee.
Henrietta shares her disappointment in not being invited to the National Handbell Symposium and how that led to co-creating a film about her and her handbell adventures!
The ladies explore the importance of community, hence Henrietta's saying, "One bell does not a choir make!" Isn't that the truth! Henrietta also shares about her balance in following her dreams and staying grounded in the moment, which can be tricky sometimes.
Another theme for Henrietta is the importance of being in love with what you do. As she says, "The greatest work of art anybody ever creates is the life they live." What a beautiful perspective and reminder that we're all artists!
If you saw your life as your greatest artistic contribution to the world, how would that shift one thing you are or do? Let Tarah and Liz know in the comments or email them!
