The EU’s uncivil war over vaccine disaster | The Mallen Baker Show
Europe descends into a massive bun-fight over the worsening vaccine crisis. Joe Biden looks to spend eye-wateringly large amounts of money on covid relief. And even more eye-watering amounts on climate change. And Greta Thunberg says it’s still not enough.
The Mallen Baker Show is aimed at all people who see themselves as change makers, with commentary on issues and change movements with a particular focus on climate change and environment, social issues, free speech and corporate social responsibility.
Everybody's boycotting someone - some of the reasons are solid, and some are founded on urban myths or old problems that have been fixed already! How to know the difference? This is the introductory vid for a series on specific companies that you may be thinking of boycotting.

It’s the one single thing that explains why Europe’s approach to issues is so different to America’s. And it’s the one main argument to justify overclaiming of the science by certain climate change campaigns. It is, of course, is the precautionary principle.
Is it a hugely valuable tool for decision making in a dangerous and complex world? Or is it a well-meaning failure that stifles innovation and problem solving? Let’s discuss.

The UK government has signed up to the 'net zero carbon by 2050' targets and plan of the committee on climate change.
Not everybody approves.
Bjorn Lomborg reiterated his view that such action is too costly for the benefit, and that climate change won't be that big a deal anyway.
On the other side, Professor Kevin Anderson came forward with six points about why it's too little too late.
In this video, we look at both arguments, and conclude which are the most important critiques, and which are not.

The US delivers a formal rebuke to the UK normally reserved for enemies not allies, falling vaccination rates mean the US is unlikely to meet its target for independence day. And is the UK betraying the poor by cutting back on its foreign aid?

Keynote speech at the CSR Lebanon conference by Mallen Baker on the Power of Purpose in business.
Covers why businesses should have a purpose, and why purposeful business is different to old-style corporate social responsibility. What it looks like when a company has a business purpose that genuinely dictates how it behaves in the marketplace. And why purposeful businesses are effective change agents to address issues like climate change and generally to change the world for good.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the human "superpower" common to the people with power and influence in the world. We'll talk about how it can be (but often isn't) unaccountable power, and we'll talk about a couple of rather well known and extremely topical examples. Curious? Well, let's get started.
