Basketball Conditioning Workout | How To Get In Shape For Basketball
For today's video I put together a conditioning workout for basketball that I go through and explain how to do each exercises and each movement. In basketball their is a lot of different things that are expected from our bodies, so we have to be creative when it comes to training for basketball conditioning. These basketball conditioning drills will have enough variety to challenge almost every ratio of your performance.
Add this workout to your training to get in the best shape you can for basketball. Go as hard as you can, and really make sure to challenge yourself during conditioning training.
For this video I am showing you my favorite agility drills for basketball. Agility is more important than you think, I explain why we need to improve agility for basketball. Agility is not just your foot speed, but it is also your control over your footwork and improving this is going to help a lot of different things in the game. If you are new to doing footwork drills for basketball, these are going to feel pretty awkward until you do them multiple times.
For these speed and agility drills the only thing you are going to need for all of them is a speed ladder, and cones. But if you do not have them, these can be done without them if you have chalk or even tape. There is also a few different line drills, all you will need for those is a line on the floor or the ground.
I show you four different progressions for the agility ladder drills, four progressions for the line drills, and 2 progressions for the cone drills. Each one will play a part to increase speed and agility.

For today's topic we are talking about how often should you workout each body part. Their are a lot of different scenarios we can talk about for athletic training, as far as how often should athletes train. (Jump training, speed training, etc.) But for today we are going to be specifically talking about strength training for athletes.
I talk in depth about how many days a week athletes need to strength train in the offseason as well as in season. Because looking at these different perspectives things are going to change quite a bit in our training.

In this video I talk about how to measure vertical jump without equipment, and talk about some of the best ways to measure your vertical jump as well, to give you an idea of what will help it be the most accurate.
In order to increase your vertical jump, you need a starting point. I always like to start with testing your vertical jump. The best and most accurate way to measure your vertical is by using a vertec. I explain in the video how this isn't going to be for everybody, because it is a big investment and it also takes up quite a bit of space. So I talk in depth about some other options, like using apps to measure your vertical jump. VertVision and Jumpster are the apps that I tried, and tested out numerous times to see if it would be a good recommendation for you guys. My thoughts on these apps is they just did not work for me, I thought the accuracy wasn't there at all so would not recommend.
I also show you how you can measure your vertical without using any special equipment, it can be just from things most of us have lying around the house.
