Introduction: Bug Out Library (Urban Survival) by TheUrbanPrepper
Introduction: BUG OUT LIBRARY
All of the gear and survival items that we "preppers" have been stockpiling are good to have, but the main thing we need is "Knowledge". Since I am not a survival expert, someone with a military background, or have any experience in a "real life" emergency/survival scenario, I am going to need to have as much knowledge and information as possible in a bug out scenario that will help ensure the safety of myself and my family.
Unfortunately, I cannot just bring my entire bookshelf filled with survival books, how to manuals, emergency preparedness instructions and more. It's just too big and too heavy. That lead me to wanting to have an E-Reader be utilized in my new bug out bag, which would provide me thousands of books, PDF's, manuals, maps and more that can be referenced in an emergency situation; all stored in a few ounces.
This video shows the plans and ideas that I am looking at that will hopefully help me achieve my goals in accumulating "knowledge". I really hope that you, the viewers, can help me refine this important system for my bug out bag. I have not seen any others on YouTube using this system (although I may have missed it), so this is unfamiliar territory for me. As always, I will be attempting to implement this system from an "Urban" perspective. I am really excited to see how this Bug Out Library materializes over the next several weeks.

After driving back home from Montana, I got caught up in some road construction on Highway 90 in Snoqualmie Pass (Cascade Mountains). All cars came to a complete standstill, and people were turning off their engines and just waiting outside of their cars.
This made me start to re-think a few of my bug out routes in case of an emergency. I had originally designed them in my pre-YouTube days and I think they are due for a revamping. When going to local sporting events, I often times need to modify my normal Every Day Carry (EDC) since many of the items I carry are prohibited by the stadium. For example, most stadiums prohibit any kind of weapons (guns, knives, multi-tools), whistles, flashlights and other common EDC items. Check your team’s stadium Rules & Regulations page on their website for specifics, as many of them have slight variations to the rules. Because of this obstacle, I like referring to this setup of my EDC as my “Gameday EDC”. Normally I use a tiered approach for my EDC carry. However, I use a free-for-all approach with regard to organization for my Gameday EDC with an emphasis of light weight gear and without the need of a backpack as a carrying method. The main goal is to be able to get through the security checkpoint line as quickly as possible and without incident. This current Gameday EDC setup has worked well for me for the entire 2014-2015 NFL season. My local sports team is the Seattle Seahawks, so this Gameday EDC color scheme is based on the Seahawks color scheme. You can use the same method for your team and sport of choice.

In this video, TheMountainRN makes a guest appearance to discuss and demo a surgical stapler for skin closure. The staplers can be used as a suture alternative and are extremely easy to use, even for beginners. Sutures, on the other hand, require much more training, practice and Lidocaine, which is a careful subject in itself due to potential toxicity issues. As TheMountainRN recommends, leave the suturing to Rambo.
