A Walk Through the Woods in 680nm Infrared
I went out for another walk with my infrared camera.
I seem to have settled mostly on 720nm as my IR filter of choice, but I thought I should give my less powerful IR filter a chance, so I put on my 680nm filter before heading out on this walk.
I set a higher shutter speed than is normal for video work, hoping it would leave more space for digital de-shaking in post. This higher shutter speed of 1/100 for 24fps video, along with the IBIS and shooting ultra wide created a very strange jello wobble to the footage. I'm going to have to play around with that some more.
Full Spectrum modified Nikon Z5 with 14-30mm/4 lens. Standard colour profile. Using the white balance setting for full spectrum and desaturating later, because my Z5 cannot make a custom WB preset for this filter, I just keep getting error messages.
4K footage from a full frame sensor with 1.7X crop.

deleting-640-wedding-photos-in-seconds.
I shoot raw + jpg, because I find raw files are slow to load when you are going through a lot of them in a hurry, and jpegs just load without fussing with any software.
But after deleting the jpgs, going through and manually deleting all those NEFs can be really tedious work - unless you use a super handy script, TrashSingleTwin.
With the help of TrashSingleTwin, I can go from 1321 to 1064 to 681 photos in a matter of seconds.

This is part of a collaborative sonic arts/sound art project from 2005 between myself and two close friends.
We walked around the city of Toronto with a microphone and field recorder, capturing the ambient sounds around us as we explored.
The direction we took was determined by "Manfred" The name we gave to the man on the walk/don't walk signs.
We then took the recorded audio and mangled it with whatever audio editors we had access to at the time (Mostly Adobe Audition, Audiomulch, and Goldwave). We set a number of strict rules for ourselves as to what was and was not allowed. Cutting and pasting, time stretching, and adding new sounds, for example, were strictly forbidden.
At the time, we did not have access to video capture devices, so this was an audio only project. I have created a video accompaniment to go along with these sound files.

I've been playing around with image stacking lately, combining multiple high ISO images of the same scene into one clean, low-noise image.
Some notes:
The relationship between stacked images and the noise reduction effect seems to be squared, not doublings, so you must combine:
Four images for a one stop ISO improvement, not two.
Eight images for a two stop improvement.
16 images for a three stop improvement.
I've been using Affinity Photo 2 to do my image stacking, but I imagine there are other free and open source programs out there as well.
