First the pandemic took away my social life, and now it’s coming for my manga? Corona virus has gone TOO FAR. Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba chapter 203 and for that matter the entirety of the next weekly shounen jump has been delayed, resulting in a double issue for the following release. For clarity, the delayed issue SHOULD have been on shelves on April 20th, will now be on the back burner, held under lock and key and available for weebs worldwide instead on the 27th. Pretty sucky. Humanity feared the Demons, Muzan feared the sun, Tamayo’s poisons were moderately effective, but as of right now the Demon Slayer Universe is held tightly in the grips of the Corona Virus. For a little more insight at what’s going on right now at Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump HQ, a crunchy roll article states: The announcement said that due to the health and safety of the staff, work for the entire editorial department of Weekly Shonen Jump has been temporarily suspended while awaiting the results of the PCR test which the 40-year old staff has already taken. The suspension is in consideration of the writers, other staff members, and other related parties who might be involved with the creation of the weekly manga magazine. It was mentioned that the staff member doesn't come into contact with the manga creators of Jump on a regular basis. DENJI MASTERING THE CHAINSAW THING. Also, pretend I'm actually talking. Apparently I'm too pretty for radio. #ThiccMakima #ChainsawMan #AnimeFriedChicken I hope you guys are ready for the most polished battle ready proficient killing machine iteration of Denji we’ve had yet because chapter 94’s royal rumble of Chainsaw man vs Makima and the seven hybrids did NOT go the way I expected, until it did. Now last week Makima asked why Chainsaw Man had reverted back into the more pitiful form of a semi-human Denji instead of his full devil form, which is as you’d think just looking at his now stupid chainsaw head and causal work attire combo. But it aint the case. Look at his armoured mechanised chainsaw hands. HE didn’t have that when in hybrid form fighting the gun devil in chapter 79. This is an upgraded Denji Chainsaw Man Hyrbid with the strength of his berserk devil mode while retaining his humanity. And most importantly he’s a class above these other scrub hybrids that stand before him. Let’s get into the chapter. This week opens up with panels setting the scene. We’ve got Chainsaw Man, a team of one versus, The public safety bureau officers, The zombie devil, debuted all the way back in chapter, now under Makima’s control and raising an army from the nearby graves. Then we’ve got the big hitters the katana hybrid, the bomb hybrid, the bow and arrow hybrid, the broadsword hybrid, the whip hybrid, the spear hybrid AND the flame thrower hybrid. Oh and not to forget, Makima herself. Denji launches the first attack and its nothing quite like what we’ve seen from him before. Taking Beam’s advice, just like how we saw him reflect on Beam last chapter, he gets a little creative with his chains, as he rips the ground from beneath the cannon fodder zombie army, and chanels his inner spiderman by using said chains to launch the chunk of land straight towards Makima and the Hybrids. Makima says “cut” and within an instant the Katana and broadsword hybrids leap and clear the incoming attack slicing through the rocky land mass hurtling at them. And no, Denji isn’t making the switch to be a ranged fighter flinging boulders, instead this is purely a distraction. As through the flying rubble and debris, Denji descends on his prey at break-neck speed one-shotting the two bladed devils. Remember the whole arc where Katana devil gave Denji so much trouble? Not anymore son, he gets 100-zero’d in one slice. Though Denji isn;t the only one capable of capitalizing on distractions as Makima uses the spear devil to flank Chainsaw man before the katana and broadsword hybrids even hit the ground.
