Video created with the help of volunteers at Openmind Projects learning camps for local school students in Nong Khai, Thailand.
Find out more about our holiday camps at http://www.openmindprojects.org/holiday-camp-volunteer.html
Openmind Projects' school holiday camps offer an exciting way for local children to learn and practice English, meet people from and learn about other countries, and practice eco-friendly behavior!
The camps are free for the children who come from poor village schools in the northeast (Isan) and south of Thailand, Laos and Burma. They are the sons and daughters of poor rice farmers, workers and fishermen. From the Mae Sot and Umphang areas along the Burmese border in the mountains of western Thailand come students from Karen and Hmong families of refugees and migrants.
Volunteers and local staff stay at the site of the camp so there’s lots of time to hang out together: 24-hour total immersion!
