"I Found a Million Dollar Baby" was a suggestion, and a darn good one, from my wife. Now, the song is stuck in my head.
On the day of taxes, I was feeling sad and I asked my sweet wife, "what song would go well with tax day"? Her response was "how about 'I Found A Million Dollar Baby". I had never hear of the song, so I checked it out on YouTube. The first vid was,..well, not the best one and I remarked to Sonja "really, is this the song?" Later, I found the Bing Crosby version,..a whole lot better.
I will freely admit that I enjoy singing this genre very much. It seems to fit my voice the best and I always remark that I was born about a century too late as I would have (or might have) made a good living doing this style of singing. Alas, here I am singing under an overpass *chuckle*.
Lyrics:
was a lucky April shower
It was the most convenient door
I found a million dollar baby
In a five and ten cent store.
The rain continued for an hour.
I hung around for three or four.
Around a million dollar baby
In a five and ten cent store.
She was selling china
And when she made those eyes,
I kept buying china
Until the crowd got wise.
Incidently
If you should run into a shower,
Just step inside my cottage door,
And meet the million dollar baby
From the five and ten cent store.
Love comes along like a popular song
Any time or anywhere at all.
Rain or sunshine
Spring or fall.
Say, you'll never know when it may say hello
In a very unexpected place.
For example, take my case.
She was selling china
And when she made those eyes
I kept buying china
until the crowd got wise.
Incidently
If you should run into a shower
Oh, step inside my cottage door
And meet my million dollar baby
From the five and ten cent store.

I went down a little Christian marketing rabbit hole to see where it would go. It did not disappoint.
Brothers and sisters, I have no problem with churches using marketing to get the word out, but there's a difference between good marketing practices and manipulative, slimball tactics. This example is the latter.

"Don't Dream It's Over" always have a melancholy vib for me and it always reminds me of good times during high school.
Don't Dream It's Over was one of my high school songs that seemed to follow me through those years. In looking at the lyrics I can honestly say that I was drawn to the melody. It's just one of those instances that I can't explain, but this song brings back happy and sad memories for me. The tune is a uniquely 80s song that will forever be in my mind.

Lyrics:
There is freedom within
there is freedom without
Try to catch a deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead
many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me
[CHORUS]
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm towing my car
there's a hole in the roof
my possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
in the paper today
tales of war and of waste
but you turn right over to the T.V. page
[CHORUS]
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm walking again
to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead
barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief
Hey now, Hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, Hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
You know they won't win
Don't let them win
Hey now, Hey now
Hey now, Hey now
Hey now, Hey now
Don't let them win
They come, They come
Don't let them win
Hey now, Hey now (yeah)
Hey now, Hey now

Surely the Presence of the Lord is a hymn that I remember singing on the last Sunday at the Methodist Church. A nice little memory for me.
Only 92 days left...
Lyrics:
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.
I can feel God's mighty power and God's grace.
I can hear the brush of angel's wings,
I see glory on each face.
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.
In the midst of His children
The Lord said He would be.
It doesn't take very many
It can be just two or three.
And I feel that same sweet spirit
That I felt oft times before.
Surely I can say
I've been with My Lord
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.
I can feel God's mighty power and God's grace.
I can hear the brush of angel's wings,
I see glory on each face.
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.
There's a holy hush around us,
As God's glory fills this place.
I've touched the hem of God's garment,
I can almost see God's face.
And my heart is over flowing
With the fullness of God's joy.
And I know, without a doubt,
That I've been with the Lord.
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.
I can feel God's mighty power and God's grace.
I can hear the brush of angel's wings,
I see glory on each face.
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place

This is part of a song I wrote some time ago. It's a swinin' Blues type of vibe talking about the filling up of the Holy Spirit.
