In modern #India, intercaste marriages are still deemed unacceptable. So much so, they often lead to violence and honour killings. Lovebirds on the run from enraged relatives can turn to Love Commandos, volunteers who provide shelter and legal aid. Although the law is on the couples’ side, many don’t go to police, often complicit in persecuting such couples. Indians who defied their families and communities share their thoughts on India’s caste system and why love #marriages are still a problem.
This is a short version of our documentary, Love Commandos. Battling for love marriages, and saving inter-caste couples from honour killings - https://youtu.be/3DduFiFiSuI

Since 2014, many women have volunteered to join the Donbass militia. On the front lines and in hospitals, they work without breaks. Anna used to be a flight attendant and later worked at the Ukrainian Embassy in Jordan. When the military operation began though, she volunteered as a soldier with the Donetsk Republic’s Army to defend her homeland.
Men often oppose women joining the army, but Anna passed all the tests and learned about combat under Grad attacks and bombing. She went on to become a deputy company leader in a rifle battalion and now helps bolster the men’s morale: ‘I can tell you that it might have impressed many men because when they see a woman fight, their fear goes away, too’.
The documentary tells the stories of women who are strong in spirit and willing to do their bit to bring peace back to their homeland.
Before European leaders imposed sanctions on Russian gas, it accounted for roughly 40% of the EU's energy imports. The ban on Russian energy immediately led to price hikes and had a knock-on effect on European economies. However, the damaging effect on European countries was seemingly anticipated by Americans. RAND Corporation, a research institution sponsored by the US government, in a secret memorandum that dates back to January 2021, indicated that anti-Russian sanctions were planned by the U.S. long before they were actually introduced.
In the fourth episode of Red Alert, host Anna Chapman investigates why the former Foreign Minister of Austria, Karin Kneissl, was forced to flee Austria and seek refuge outside Europe. That’s turned out to be the fate of European scholars or politicians who are not pro-U.S. or pro-Antlantist. ‘If you only follow the US line, then you're good. The others are all bad guys. That's the West's logic, the rules are simple. These are propagated in the media, so everyone believes’, says a political analyst from Austria, Patrick Poppel. Why are alternative political opinions in Europe no longer tolerated or encouraged?
Hieromonk Feofan (Georgy Kratirov) took photos of Ukrainian combat vehicles and equipment in Volnovakha in 2014. He was kidnapped the following year to be tortured. He was beaten, tasered and waterboarded by Ukrainian special forces.
"During this torture, a victim breathes in water, and air flows into the oesophagus. Some demons invented this torture", he says. Hieromonk Feofan survived and told his story in Donbass: I’m Alive.

Contraband forest exports, illegal logging, and pest invasions threaten the forests' well-being. Disrupted ecosystems caused by uncontrolled logging lead to landslides and soil erosion, while the dry and damaged trees carry pests. They travel long distances and infect healthy areas.
Last year saw an abysmal record in Russia for wildfires caused by negligence and slash-and-burn agriculture, with 17 mln hectares of forest destroyed. If the trend persists, in 50 years, Siberia will be treeless. Is there any way of stopping it?
