In today’s video we are going to do a workout of the seven primal movements. We will go through three rounds of the movements, each round will get progressively harder. If one exercise feels too difficult for you in one round, simply regress back to the previous progressions. The seven primal movements include bend/extend, squat, lunge, twist, push, pull, and gait. Gait is any form of walking or running which I will not be performing in this workout but feel free to add this in at the end of each round. Combining the primal movements is a great way to get a full body workout and change up your routine. Have fun!

The kettlebell swing will give you unbelievable benefits, be patient and take your time to get it exact. Some important things to focus on when performing the kettlebell swing are to start the bell out front, as far out front as you can reach the bell without shifting your posture. Assist the backward pendulum with your lats pulling the bell down, think of the kettlebell swing as a front to back movement, not up and down. Plank tall at the top using your glutes, abs, and lats, move through your hips learning to accelerate and decelerate the bell with your hips, keep your back flat, and breathe in going down exhaling sharp at the top. Using a mirror or working with a friend will help develop your technique.
