At this time of year (August through October) a bear feels the need to eat continuously and that need may include feeding up to 24 hours a day. So you may start seeing more bears around your yard, garbage, on the hiking trails etc. Use extra caution this time of year and be sure you do not leave food out, grills uncleaned, or garbage unsecured! A lot of you often ask if the bears ever hurt Jim or Susan. While they don’t really worry about being attacked, the sheer size and weight of the bears can cause them to knock you over or take you down when play wrestling with them. From Susan: It’s not easy to get bunny video. The motto of the rabbit is “run for your life”. I try not to discourage them from thinking that way, so I don’t handle them too much.
