Thank you guys for taking the time to watch this video and get a little more of an in-depth conversation about exotic pet diets. There are always extra things you need to think about and if you don't, it can lead to the animal getting sick and dying early. I’m not trying to get dramatic but I have seen a lot of people who just ignore all the information that’s out there and decide they are going to treat it like a cat or a dog. I hope that by sharing this information, it inspires all of you with exotic pets to look more deeply into the proper diets and necessities of those animals. Every species requires special care since we are taking them out of the environment they have evolved to live in. For years I’ve offered roaches to Scout and he never wants them. I tried the recommended trick and it even though I’ve done it with other pets before I just didn’t think to do it with him for some reason. Sometimes we get stuck in our routines and it’s nice to have a friend remind you to change things up when the time is necessary. The good thing is that even if all of this information was incorrect about retinol being toxic, Scout still would benefit in the end because the roaches are going to be more nutritious for him and I never liked feeding him mice anyway and it was a rare treat. Crickets are a pain in the butt and I already feed him mealworms regularly so having roaches as a part of his new diet is great. I have also begun to give him some boiled sweet potato instead of carrots since I was informed that those would be better in nutrition as well. Guess what, he loved them! I love it when he tries new things and enjoys it since he’s always been so picky. I would love to hear what you guys think about this subject. Now you can also see why I refrained from showing some clips of scout with his fur like that but it’s finally grown all back in and he’s fine! Next time I get a chance I will shoot a new video with him but for now I have a folder of new topics and older videos I wanted to share with all of you!
