BEAUTIFUL LANDING | Jetstar JQ295 from Auckland to Queenstown (2017.06.22)
Here is Jetstar Airways JQ295 operating from Auckland to Queenstown, New Zealand. This shows mostly the descent and landing into Queenstown, one of the most beautiful and scenic airports in the world. This is the start of my adventure of a lifetime where I would do ziplining, bungy jumping, skydiving, skiing, and a tour to Milford Sound, things that I have been dreaming for years.

Another video from my trip to Vancouver & Whistler this past December, here's the return flight back to Toronto on the Boeing 737 MAX. Like the previous flight, it was also on C-FNAX and was a really enjoyable flight with excellent legroom and superior seat comfort.
Many thanks to the flight crew for allowing me to get a picture of the cockpit with its four large screens!
Apologies for editing/uploading this so late as I was very busy during this school term.

Here is British Airways G-ZBJG, a 2014 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, flying on BA94 from Montreal-Trudeau to London Heathrow. My first time on a 787 on a transatlantic route, this was an excellent flight with a really good crew and a really good meal in economy.
This was booked on a multi-city itinerary on the Finnair website and I connected to BA794 to Helsinki. As you may know, I'm currently staying in Hong Kong when I uploaded this video, and unfortunately the wifi connection at my place is extremely slow, and it took 7 hours just to upload this, longer than the flight itself! In comparison, this would take only 20 minutes to upload at my hotel in Helsinki.

It's been 7 months since my first sighting of a TTC Nova Bus LFS HEV (3411) in October at the Nova Bus factory, and here's my first ride on this series of hybrid buses. These buses are the start of a new era at the Toronto Transit Commission and is the first step into reducing fuel use and emissions for the next decade, eventually reaching the goal of zero emissions later in the 2030's.
Getting a ride on these buses was a hit and miss. Though I first sighted it in October 2018, unveiled publicly in November, and finally entered service in February 2019, these series were however grounded shortly after due to a defect in the steering system which was fixed later in March, and returned to full service afterwards. I spent the reading break in Toronto in early March which was when the buses were grounded.
A total of 255 buses are on order for 2018-19 (3400-3654) and most will be delivered to Malvern Division to replace the Orion VII hybrids, which were rather troublesome and did not deliver fuel savings that were initially promised, which led to the TTC not buying hybrid buses for a decade. However, these Nova hybrids are a completely new breed. It delivers up to 30% fuel savings and 50% less noise, and overall runs far more efficiently than the previous generation.
These buses are overall very comfortable, and runs very smoothly. It has a few features new to the TTC, including the VISION displays and announcements, as well as USB ports for charging mobile devices.
Please note that the audio has been muted from 20:41 to 22:10 due to a phone conversation.

Here is a brand-new electric bus demo from Nova Bus corporation, the bus manufacturer based at Saint-Eustache, QC. This is the newest of the four LFSe buses in existence, having been manufactured only in October 2015 with 48.8 miles on the odometer at the time of filming. Nova Bus displayed it at the CUTA Trans-Expo on Nov. 24 at Palais des congrès de Montréal (convention centre) and it is an annual transportation convention that takes place every year in different cities in Canada; the next Trans-Expo will be in Vancouver in November 2016. As part of the convention, Nova Bus offered a free demo tour on this bus which was introduced with a company business card. Delegates from Siemens were also on board as they contributed to the development of the propulsion system.
At 12:22 there was also a "drag race" to demonstrate the rapid acceleration of the bus.
Three identical electric buses of this type will be trialed with the STM on route 36 Monk starting late 2016. Charging stations will be installed at Square-Victoria and Angrignon Metro.

Welcome to my first transit video from my visit to Tallinn! Here's a ride on a Stadler FLIRT from Tallinn (Balti jaam) to Ülemiste on the 11:41 service to Narva. ELRON is the national passenger rail operator in Estonia operating only the Stadler FLIRT as of 2017, with electric units operating on short-distance suburban routes and diesel units (like this one) operating on longer distance routes. Low floors and low platform levels enable many stations on the network to be fully accessible.
The Stadler FLIRT is a popular model for many passenger rail operators in Europe and has recently made its way into North America, including operations in Texas as well as a recent order for Ottawa's O-Train Trillium Line for 2022.

A transit system not often filmed, here's the full route of 20 Cheakamus running between Whistler Village and Cheakamus Crossing, a new neighbourhood to the south of Whistler that is also home to the HI Whistler hostel.
The New Flyer XN40 Xcelsior is one of 25 new compressed natural gas (CNG) buses on order for this year to improve services throughout the area as well as being a testbed for alternative fuels for buses.
This was filmed at the end of my visit to Whistler Blackcomb, and it has been a challenging few days of skiing due to the whiteout conditions in the alpine, as well as the fresh snow and ever-changing conditions. Nevertheless, my visit last year was much better as the sky was very clear and the highest elevations of both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains were open, giving a stunning view of the surroundings. Adding a bit of spice to this visit this year was that I did the Whistler Bungee, which was absolutely amazing!
The end-to-end route running time is 25 minutes, and system maps (credits to BC Transit website) are included in the beginning of the video.

Welcome to my first upload of the new year! Here I'll take you back to 31 March 2021 when I flew from Vancouver to Toronto!
This was one of my highlight flights of 2021 as the A220-300 rarely operates on the Vancouver to Toronto route in Air Canada, as the airline prefers to operate wide-body aircraft (A330, 777, 787) and larger single aisle aircraft (like the A321) on this route. With lower passenger numbers in the pandemic, the A220 has been seen on this route a couple of times.
While there isn't much to review with the onboard service, much of this video shows the view outside as the weather was very beautiful that day, showing the mountains of BC very well. As more than half of this flight is at night, I did not film the full flight as there would be relatively little to see after sunset.
All in all, the well designed cabin of the A220 really enhances the flight experience overall. We had a very nice crew onboard, one of whom complemented the A220 tag I have on my backpack. Coming to Toronto, it was already 1 in the morning and all public transport has stopped service, so I called a carpool driver I personally knew, who would take me to the Delta hotel beside Union Station, which is normally easily reached by the Union Pearson Express train.

My first ride on an Airbus A320neo, here's AirAsia 9M-NEO on flight AK139 from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur. This is also my first time visiting Malaysia, and stayed until June 3 and also visited Ipoh and and the picturesque countryside as well.
The Airbus A320neo is the newest and best selling single-aisle aircraft family of Airbus Industrie, having gained over 5000 orders as of June 2017. It features new engines with a choice of the CFM LEAP-1A and PW1000G which feature at least a 15% fuel use reduction and half the noise generated compared to the old engines; a rearranged cabin in the form of SpaceFlex (and also Cabin Flex for A321) means over 20% less fuel per passenger. AirAsia has selected the CFM LEAP-1A for their A320 and A321neo aircraft. 9M-NEO also features a special livery promoting their first A320neo aircraft, however I was unable to get the full livery on the side since the departure and arrival gates for this flight meant rather poor angles to photograph this aircraft.
Overall an excellent flight with a good crew and good service! Really enjoyed those new engines and the awesome scenery outside! My one and only complaint is that AirAsia should have taken deliveries of the A320neo more quickly (still only 3 aircraft since Sept. 2016 and no deliveries between Nov. 2016 and now). More A320neo aircraft means more routes can be served with it and using less fuel means lower air fares! Also the food was a little lacking considering it costed HKD$20 (MYR 10 or CAD$3.50). The coffee was free and actually tasted quite well.
Stay tuned as I will also be uploading the return flight on 9M-AGA and a few public transit videos in KL!
