A few words on favoritism from Deuteronomy 21.
No, he must acknowledge as firstborn the son of the unloved wife by giving him a double portion of everything he owns, for he is the firstfruits of his manhood, and the right of the firstborn is his.

Join me as I journey through the Torah cycle. These are my questions and observations from the thirty-seventh of fifty-four Torah Potions: Shelach Numbers 13:1-15:41
This caught my attention: who sent the spies, changing names and the boldness to take fruit. What about you?
Why does HaShem have Moses Send Spies?
Why does Moses change Hosea's name?
Why does taking fruit require boldness?

28 From the portion of the soldiers who went out to battle, levy a tax for HaShem consisting of one-five-hundredth... 30 From the half that goes to the people of Isra’el, you are to take one-fiftieth... and give them to the L’vi’im taking care of the tabernacle of HaShem.”

A few words on Genesis 18.
On Justice.
25 Far be it from you to do such a thing — to kill the righteous along with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike! Far be it from you! Shouldn’t the judge of all the earth do what is just?”

Welcome to another Torah Portion survey for the week of Beresheet 5782.
My name is Matthew. I am humbly reading through the Word to make observations and ask questions about what is written. I am happy to receive feedback, comments and questions.
What stood out to you in this week's Torah portion? I have some questions. When were Cain and Abel born? How did Noah bring rest to the world?

Messianic Weekly Study Guide - Vezot Haberakhah
Listen to the voice from Heaven, always. Hear that voice by mining the Word spoken by many, but coming from the One True King.
#Bible #BibleStudy #VezotHaberakhah
Parashat Vezot Haberakhah sets out the farewell Blessing of Moses for the 12 Tribes of Israel and concludes with the death of Moses.
In the Haftorah, G‑d assures Joshua that He will be with him just as He was with Moses and encourages him to be strong and brave, to study the Torah constantly and keep it close, so that he may succeed in all his endeavors.
In the Apostolic Writings, Moses and Elijah meet with Messiah and a voice from Heaven implores the disciples to listen to Yeshua.
The eleventh portion of the book of Devarim/Deuteronomy is Vezot Haberakhah, which means “This is the Blessing." This is the 54th Torah Portion.
Torah Portion: Deuteronomy 33:1- 34:12
Haftorah: Joshua 1: 1-18
Apostolic Writings: Matthew 17: 1-9
Chabad has wonderful resources for studying the weekly Torah Portion
