WA4WD is a dedicated to exploring the outback of Western Australia. The team travels to remote areas for off the grid bush camping. The Aussie Bush Cook prepares all our meals in the bush. The WA4WD team believes we should do no damage to the bush, ourselves or our vehicles (they are needed to get us home).
The WA4WD team have been camping in the outback for more than 50 years, but we continue to learn from each trip. The team must make repairs without assistance if necessary. Water conservation is very important when away from civilisation.
The team looks for abandonned towns, lost cemeteries and forgotten railway lines. The focus is generally from the Pilbara south.
If anyone can see another camper, then we are too close.
Two members trained with the Australian Army many decades ago and use those bush skills to find tracks and navigate through the outback.

This time, the team explores part of Hunt's Track from Woolgangie through Yerdanie Rock to Gnarlbine Rock. On the way we stop at the Prince of Wales mine and discover some more old Woodlines.
This is part 1 of that exploration.

The Marble Bay Road has had a few iterations. During World War 2 it hit the current Great Northern Highway near Pardoo. It has been moved twice since then. This trip takes us along a small section that was the road in the early 1980s. During this period, this road was trafficable by normal 2 wheel drive vehicles.
We also stop at an old gold mine, and investigate a part of the old telegraph line and the Port Hedland to Marble Bar railway line.
