Shooting USPSA in the Sand @ Custer - Open Division Hatcam GoPro Hero4
Custer's range is one of the best run with very interesting bays which allows them to design fun and challenging stages. This month's match had lots of low ports which makes it hard for aging knees to deal with, at least the bays had soft sand. I felt slow in some stages because I was waiting for a perfect sight picture instead of shooting early, calling my shots and correcting them if needed.
Just spliced together Yong Lee's stage video side by side in comparison with mine from the previous match at Paul Bunyan. Yong is a four division Grand Master and super smooth. Although it looked like I was faster in some of the stages, I dropped a ton of points, and Yong makes it look effortless and got all his hits.

Gary does it again. Think this is his 2nd giveaway. This time he's giving away a Ruger SR1911!! Just like him, I love the 1911 format. So here's my video response.

This was a charity match setup by the DownZero club here in Seattle. It is to promote Prostate Cancer Awareness. Did you know that Prostate cancer affects 1 in 6 men? and it's deadlier than breast cancer?
if you're over 40,do yourself, and more importantly, your family, a favor and schedule an appointment to have it checked.

My Father's Day present, to be able to go off for the weekend and shoot the 2016 Inland Empire Sectional Championships. It was a fun 9+1 stage Level 2 match shot at the Rattlesnake Shooting Facility in Benton City. I couldn't engage match mode for a few stages and I paid dearly in penalties. Still managed to edge out 3rd Open. Thanks to everyone who setup this match every year, I'll be back!.

I have never run so much in a match ever. This match has me winded after ever stage. The amount of running and movement is just insane. That said, it was a really low stress match rules are USPSA based with USPSA minor scoring and competitors have to bring a Handgun and a PCC, with optional rifle in Stage 1-3 only.
It was also really cool to see all the tactical shit that other competitors brought out to shoot in the rifle portion, all manner of ARs & AKs, some suppressed (nice sound!)
I shot my Sterling PCC and my regular Open pistol. I guess my Open portion of the shooting made up for my World War 2 PCC's age and I managed to come in 2nd in the Open division.

Was a fun match today. The Custer Sportsmen's Club organized a match inspired by the upcoming Area-1 stages which was really interesting. It was a very close match against a buddy of mind JohnV from TN, we were trading 5-10points throughout the entire match until the last stage which became the deciding stage. JohnV edged out a better performance to win by 6 points total. Congrats on getting $1 richer ;)
This match was a mental match for me. I told myself to ignore everything bad and good that will happen. Leave the stage as is and move on. I was trying to get into a place where I can focus on shooting and not let anything affect me, especially worrying about my times, scores and the need to catch up to someone else.
Although I didn't win the match and was slow in some stages, I am proud to say that I've learned how to get into the zone and shut everything out. Now all I need to do is to trust that this works and shoot my best game every time. (Thanks Steve Anderson)
