A shaolin youtube master of antiseptic and soulless backing tracks recently commanded me to "Show me what you got, busker!" when I commented on his predilection for cheesy software synths, and his utter confusion at what exactly 'funk' is.
This is a single take jam over a loop I wrote and recorded in five minutes, using my hands for drums. It's an hour and a half of ambient solo guitar that is not only original, but completely improvised. And it just gets better and better the longer it goes. And all without a shred of cheese, fake drums, anemic chord progressions or PC software in sight. Imagine doing that for ten minutes, let alone 1:38.

It's just hilarious to me as I go through my old busking videos and watch the complete apathy of the public. Notice I am not playing avant garde jazz or Frank Zappa, Himalayan chants or anything that is hard on a musical leve to understand. I play a latin style jam that is basically every song in Santana's entire history, and no one gives a damn. Just proves that playing what is popular or 'commonly accepted or enjoyed' is not a ticket to getting tips. I went through this a lot on my last day busking, which was this day, and the apathy was so great I haven't even been able to pick up the guitar in 9 months.

Ma 13/2022. Used to get the same thing when I was in an instrumental band. "Where's your singer?" It got so bad I called the trio 'The Singer's on tour' to shut them up. Hey, there exists this thing, it's super amazing, called 'instrumental music.' Not everything needs a singer. It's really an insult. Like saying "Well, I don't find what you're doing adequate, it's missing vocals."
