Hi Folks, this is more of a decomrpessed 'CGA confidential' kinda video. It's just me, talkin' about a thing in the tabletop gaming world, that has been grinding my gears for a few years now.
The Orr Report is not the be-all end-all of what games are on the rise and fall. Don't let people tell you YOUR game isn't cool enough based on the Orr report data. https://blog.roll20.net/post/188703613190/the-orr-group-industry-report-q3-2019-here

Special shout out to IvanMike1968 without whom 95% of the current #RPGBrigade Video Banter wouldn't have been possible.
video banter is a great engine for keeping us fresh. You should participate in it, and poke at the community of banter-ers to get more topics that you find valuable or that you'd like advice on.
Matt Colville and Adam Koebel are my favorite non-brigadier RPG peeps. WebDM is informative to what I'd like to do with my style at times.
A survey that began with Juce the other day.
Not all the questions are answered verbally, but there are answers in here. Got about an hour of sleep the night before so the oganization may be spotty...

It's an old idea. Some people say so old it's irrelevant. The idea was that a game designer has a particular kind of creative agenda in mind as they design the game. Playing with that kind of agenda or 'taste' in mind is easier, with that designer's system. Playing toward other agendas with that system feels like swimming upstream. Material Components for spells in D&D have an *ahem* interesting reputation. Most conversations about them online begin & end with people scoffing at the headache of bookkeeping them. It seems like a lot of folks overlooked a little gem of innovation in the 3.0 edition of D&D: the Spell Component Pouch.
Saddle Up with the Complex Games Apologist for a 'Lo-Fi Beats Girl' saunter through the Flavor Win that is the Spell Component pouch.

#RPGaDAY Day 30: Game Room to End All Game Rooms...
I think we could do with a healthy bit of socialism in how we finance our dream rooms...but even then, we can do so much with so little, so why not get by and let NASA get to sending probes to Uranus and Women to Mars!

Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, Authors of DragonLance, the classic D&D setting and novel-tie-in series, have been abruptly left in the lurch by Wizards of the Coast. According to the author's side of the story, it had a lot to do with how rife with controversy and skeletons-in-closet the D&D portfolio has become. For my part, I think it has a lot to do with the fallout for an especially bad MtG novel that hit the shelves last year.

I don't spend any time in this video talking about the various excuses people will use to stand upon why they won't try a new game. I don't spend much time speaking to what non-D&D RPGs have to offer: I think it's self-evident, and I don't think the audience needs to hear that. There's lots of other videos on my channel about the world of Exciting non-D&D Tabletop Role-Playing Games.
What this video is about? the Social Engineering, the perils and pitfalls along the way to (hopefully) see it through to 'mission accomplished' when everyone's horizons are broader and the group is now accepting that D&D isn't the only RPG they want to play.
Shoutout to @CritCrab, which is the channel we're poking fun at. RPGHorrorStories is a fun subreddit to read sometimes, the curation and character added by his narration *does* elevate the content.
