The Drunken Van Chef: Cooking in a Van - Living Van Life - Episode 2 - Paella for 7 I'm really pleased to put up this van life cooking video - the second in our "Cooking in a Van" series. After a few too many Guinness' I cooked Paella for seven people which we ate by the camp fire on the beach in Portugal. During and especially after filming I was dubbed the Drunken Van Chef - what a reputation eh?! Special guest appearances by the cats and dogs as well as Greg Virgoe, Gadget John, Lou and Mandy, and of course ourselves Dom, Missy and Rosie Follow the recipe for our Vanlife Paella making it Vegan OR add fish/meat, its relatively easy and a wonderful meal to have whilst travelling on your van. We don't have an oven and have 2x LPG burners and wanted to show how well we eat, despite what may appear as a limitation without an oven, how versatile and easy vanlife cooking can be. I tend to make things up as I cook, so wanted to share some of my recipes and van cooking 'secrets' with you. The secret is that it's easy! We have been travelling as a family in our own self built Sprinter campervan conversion for 8 months. We travel with 2 dogs and 2 cats, and work online as we go.
