So today, I wanted to make a quick video about how to actually transfer money into Argentina. It's a quite popular topic online, so I'm going to give you everything you need to know. I'm going to talk about why it's happening and four ways that you can actually take foreign currency, whether it's dollars, Euros, Canadian dollars, etc., into the country at the best rate possible. And I'll also give you a quick tip on what if you're planning to do large purchases in the country, meaning like real estate.

Number one, why is it happening? I'm going to keep it very, very simple, and basically, the simple, short story is the government does not allow its citizens, residents, tourists, basically, you cannot take Argentinian Pesos, go into an Argentinian bank, and convert that into any foreign currency. You technically are allowed, but the rate that they give you is total crap. It's about half of the actual rate.

Now, what this means is there's the official rate, which you get in Argentinian bank, and then there's what they call the blue dollar, and it's the same name in Spanish. It's called blue dollar, and this is sort of like the black market rate, but don't worry about it. You're not going to get arrested, you're not going to go to prison for exchanging money this way. This is the way most of the country does it. Again, official rate, blue rate. This is usually twice as much as this one, meaning if today the official rate at the bank or Google is trading at, let's say, one US dollar

Also, give you something quite similar to the blue rate. Of course, they take their commission. Usually, those guys, and it depends because there's like hundreds of them, I usually, they'll take cash. Some of them will take Wise transfer. Some of them will take Zelle, PayPal, etc. But they all come with different levels of commissions. Some of them will accept USDT, USCC, DAI, etc. So keep that in mind, not everyone, but some of them. And number four, of course, once you've been in the country long enough, you'll find that many Argentinians who work there have vessels that they wanted to exchange into US dollars. So you know, it's possibly the best way to do it if you want to minimize your losses. So those are the four ways. Um, if you want to find out how to get this magical Blu-ray, meaning where does the number come from, right? You just multiply it by two. The answer is quite simple. There's a website called dollar.com, and there you'll find a bunch of exchange rates. But for the most part, you're mostly focused on the one that says blue dollar. That's sort of the word that everyone or the rate that everyone talks. If I want to talk about converting between US Dollars and pesos, like the blue dollar is the key word that you need to know. And number four, of course, if you want to transfer money, like large amounts of money, like let's say you want to buy an apartment, most transactions in the country, when it comes to apartments, are fully done in US dollars. So that's a whole different topic for a whole different video, and I will see you on the next video. Bye.
