The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD #001, Title Screens
Welcome to my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for the Nintendo Wii U!

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIZ8kn0xML27BXS1fMpR2gtMWiHx3GgPg

The Wind Waker was originally released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2003 in North America. In 2013, Nintendo released this beautiful HD remaster for the Nintendo Wii U. I picked up a Wii U for this game and Twilight Princess HD.

Wind Waker is definitely a colorful entry in the Zelda series. The most obvious feature of this game is its cartoony cel-shaded animation. It doesn't bug me, but I do realize that it has put off some players. Don't let this take away from the game's story, which is deeper and a little darker than in Ocarina of Time in some spots. The landscape of Hyrule is vastly different in this game—in fact, the kingdom has barely any landscape at all, as we will soon find!

I do have some minor criticisms of this remaster. One, the developers chose to remove minimaps from the game, for whatever reason. Two, there are some things shown on the gamepad controller that are not shown on the main screen, such as the Wind Waker song list. However, these are minor. Maybe Nintendo will fix these issues on a Switch release.

In this video, we view the game's title screens, which include a bit of a history lesson set to beautiful music. In the midst of it, we hear the original overworld theme.

Next time, we will start the game itself.

Thanks for watching!

Played on the Nintendo Wii U. Recorded with the Elgato Game Capture HD device and software. Produced with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
