Kit Review: Trumpeter 01515 VK 30.01 Pz.Kpfw VI Ausf. A in 1/35
A little review to keep the content flowing on the channel while I work on the Kursk Tiger. This is Trumpeter's VK 30.01, which is the grandfather of the Tiger. The kit is a bit underwhelming, but the subject is a great one.
Here is my in-box of the newest Tiger from Rye Field Model. It seems like there some accuracy issues here, but things that can be either left off or modified. There should only be one light on the left side not both sides, and the wingnut screws for the deep wading cover on the bow MG shouldn't be there.

This is my in-box of a rare what could have been Tiger I. The H2 was at least mocked up in wood, but I've never seen a manufactured one. This was a direction the Germans were debating going with for Tiger I but never materialized. The subject is an interesting one, but the kit is abysmal. At least compared to other Dragon Tiger kits in the price range.

This video is an incredibly deep dive in to the specific details of the different types of tool clamps used on German tanks of WW2. I review my personal collection, some 3D models and some reference images.

Here is my review of the Cyber-Hobby White-box Panzer II B with Beobachtungsturm. It's an obscure vehicle, but a solid kit.

Here is my After Action Report on the Rye Field DAK TIger. I finally got her together and can talk about the build quality. Overall I like it, it has some inaccuracies, but for the price it's an amazing buy.
I rated the kit in this video a 4 out of 5, which might seem odd since there are glaring errors. I must admit that perhaps that was a little too high, but I was rating as a Tiger enthusiast and judging what I got for the price. Every Dragon kit I get of a Tiger requires a minimum of $20-$40 Aftermarket for the tracks. This kit only required me to use up some spare parts. So I rated it as high as I did, perhaps on a curve, because I think it's a very big step in the right direction. It's got problems, but value for money, this kit has it.
Let's hope they fix their errors on the new 503 and continue to get better.

Here is my first and probably most awkward of youtube videos related to scale modeling. I thought I should make one since this SiG was in honor of Coen.

In this video I look at some samples of the new offerings from T-Rex Studio in the 1/35 3D Printed series. I compare them to my own actual clamps and yammer on about clamps like it matters.
There is a black spot early in the video. It was a mistake in Premiere I didn't catch. I'm not rerendering it, so my apologies. I tried. it's midnight, I have to work tomorrow. It is what it is.

This is the second kit in the set of two Landwasserschlepper Panzer IV variants. I reviewed the other one on my channel quite a while back. The prototypes themselves are different and this kit does not include the bridge. They're interesting, but very odd.

This is my review of the AFV Club Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft in use by the Germans. It's my first AFC Club artillery piece and it seems pretty impressive.
