That's right 2.7 is now available in the stable version of the game! Free trials for modules is no enacted, and the Viper is getting some major updates.

The Hornet is often referred to as a noob plane, somewhat unfairly I think. While it's easy to fly, it is a complex multi-role platform. In a recent interview titled "What's up with the F-35?" Jello talks to test pilot Billie Fynn, who described that there were times that Hornet pilots could have used a RIO or similar weapons officer, to assist in task management during complex missions.
Nevertheless, enjoy kick back and enjoy this while I type up my script for this week's update vid' which I'll likely have to push out tomorrow due to commitments tonight!

An impromptu cleaning of the Magnum 350 Canister filter prompted me to film a segment of it. I wanted to illustrate the type of filter media I use, but obviously there are any number of different ways to use the filter. Some, more expensive filters, have compartments inside specifically set up for different layering, but as you can see this is a pretty affordable and easy way of getting the same result. It will just be a little messier to clean out.
I clean the whole filter and replace the carbon about once every 4-6 weeks. The bio-balls and ceramic cylinders never need replacing. I typically won't wash them or clean them as I don't want to harm the bacteria living there. If they get really clogged or something perhaps, but otherwise their presence is pretty important for gobbling up the ammonia and other chemical waste in the tank.

Talk about stress, Fred! This was a fun mission, even though the wingman gets stuck on deck unable to take off. Some frame rate drops, but you know...
A long flight, hounded by SAM's, I took the risk and chucked off a few bombs, but got tagged by AAA flying low and slow, which was stupid. Mission complete though. I wrangled my aircraft back to the home ship, which meant a terrifying landing @ 16:50
The F-14B is a fantastic module by Heatblur Simulations. Well worth considering if you're a fan of the aircraft, or just dreamed of being a Top Gun pilot like Tom Cruise as I did as a kid! https://store.heatblur.com/

As stated earlier this week, ED did a lot of bug fixes prior to the SC release. Have you noticed an improvement in 2.5.6 Open Beta? How's the SC going?

Just a sample of many images my wife and I have captured over the years in MN.
Many of these images actually come from our own back yard, as we removed boring turf grass, and replaced it all with a pond, and as many MN native plants as we could. The work continues, we still have a little lawn left...
I started getting into native plants back in New Zealand. Indeed, it became quite a passion where I grew up, and also made a lot of sense. The wild coasts of Wellington are blasted by high winds, and sea spray can travel long distances on the winds, searing plants not intended for that environment, if they even handle the perpetual winds. Native plants became very popular, and encouraged native animals and insects to flourish.
My wife employed the same concepts to our MN garden, and now she's the expert...
It's a labor of love, but when you get to see the profusion of animals, insects and bird life, it all makes it worth while...
Enjoy...

The link to the full change log is below, and includes some improvements and fixes to our favorite new helicopter, the Mi-24P Hind.
Marianas looks awesome, although it's pretty system heavy, and only those with top end rigs are likely benefiting from the enhanced graphical detail.
