The highest specification facility in Europe has now been handed over to the club.
Welcome to my YouTube channel! Today we are going to talk about the amazing new training ground of Leicester City Football Club (LCFC) in Seagrave, north Leicestershire.
This training ground was built on a former golf course that covers 180 acres of land. It took almost two years to complete and it cost around £100 million. It was funded by King Power and the Srivaddhanaprabha family, who own LCFC.
The training ground has everything that a top football club needs: 21 pitches, including a 499-seat stadium; a state-of-the-art building for training, medical and administrative staff; an indoor pitch and media centre; advanced sports science and medical facilities; a gym and hydrotherapy area; a sports turf academy; and even a private golf course.
The construction team faced many challenges along the way, such as bad weather, COVID-19 restrictions and complex design. But they managed to deliver what LCFC wanted: one of the best training facilities in the world that honours the memory of their late owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
LCFC hope that this training ground will help them achieve more success on the pitch and develop more young talent for their academy. They officially opened it on Monday 5th April 2022.
I hope you like it. ?
