Airlie Beach is a coastal locality in the Whitsunday Region of Queensland, Australia.
The 74 Whitsunday Islands lie between the northeast coast of Queensland, Australia, and the Great Barrier Reef, a massive stretch of coral teeming with marine life. Most of the islands are uninhabited. They're characterized by dense rainforest, hiking trails and white sand beaches. The town of Airlie Beach on the mainland is the region's central hub.

In the days leading up to Christmas, weather forecasters predicted that a tropical low over the Timor Sea had intensified and was travelling towards the Northern Territory coast. The system had potential to intensify to a cyclone offshore on Boxing Day. A watch alert was activated Christmas eve with the watch zone extending between Point Stuart in the Northern Territory — including Darwin — and Kalumburu in Western Australia. The cyclone warning was cancelled Christmas night, but heavy rainfall, flash flooding and damaging winds continued across the Top End over the next two days.
As a result, Darwin experienced its coldest Christmas Day on record. with a maximum temperature of 27.3 degrees Celsius (81.14F).

King Island was named by surveyor Robert Dixon, who also named Wellington Point. In 1887, it was declared a Reserve and in 1992, it became protected under the Nature Conservation Act. Today it is part of the Moreton Bay Marine Park and is managed by a volunteer group and the Redlands City Council.
Although uninhabited now, the island was once the home for a family for medicinal reasons in the early 1900s and plaques set up on the island tell the story of the two years they lived on the island in a temporary dwelling on a sand dune.

Drone Kings in Darwin showcase more of the amazing Northern Territory terrain as we travel to Cahills Crossing. Cahills Crossing is definitely not a Darwin Australia Beach that I would swim at, but more on Cahills Crossing in another video to come.
This spectacular mountain range is located 20 minutes south of Cahills Crossing and is worth stopping at to enjoy. Using the DJI Mavic Air (the best small drone in my opinion) we peek at the mountain with some interesting developments during the flight. If you are ever visiting Jabiru a trip out here is a must.

Back before the fire, when Paronella Park was the place to be for wedding receptions and parties, a highlight of the ballroom was a magical mirror ball, made of thousands of individual mirrors. As the ball turned, the lights danced around the floor and walls. Children would stare at awe at the shimmering sight, and race around the ballroom, chasing the lights, whilst adults slow danced under the reflected beauty, long into the night.
Sadly, during the fire, the mirror ball went missing, and was never recovered.
This year, in 2020, we are so excited to be able to bring some of that magic back to the Park.
One day, a regular visitor, Russ Hill, Director of Truck Repair Group (located in Cairns and Gold Coast), donated a beautiful, glittering, shining mirror ball.
What a generous and thoughtful gift! This kindness was carried on by Duncan Plumb and the team from Innisfail Glass and Aluminium, who refurbished the mirror ball and donated all the time and materials to do so.
The mirror ball now shines again in the tropical rainforest of North Queensland. Specks of light are thrown all throughout the plants and trees surrounding Paronella Park, making for a sight that will stay with you in your heart.
We like to think that Jose Paronella’s spirit guided this mirror ball to us, through Russ and Duncan.
