May 17th, 1968 Fr. Berrigan his brother Phil and 7 others took 378 draft files from the draft board in Catonsville, MD. and in the parking lot of the draft board office they lit the draft files on fire using homemade Napalm to protest the Vietnam War. They were known as the Catonsville Nine, a documentary called Hit & Stay, A History of Faith and Resistance. Fr. Daniel Berrigan wrote, of the Catonsville incident: “Our apologies, good friends, for the fracture of good order, the burning of paper instead of children…” The whole of his statement is in The Trial of the Catonsville Nine. The Catonsville Nine were tried in federal court October 5–9, 1968. The lead defense attorney was counterculture legal icon William Kunstler. They were found guilty of destruction of U.S. property, destruction of Selective Service files, and interference with the Selective Service Act of 1967.[4] They were also sentenced to a total of 18 years’ jail time and a fine of $22,000. Several of the nine—Mary Moylan, Phil Berrigan, Dan Berrigan and George Mische—went “underground” when it came time to show up for prison—in other words, the FBI had to try to find them. Father Dan Berrigan caused considerable embarrassment to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover by popping up and giving sermons and then fading back into the “underground”.-Wikipedia Fr. Berrigan was the first Catholic priest to make to the FBI’s most wanted list. With his brother Phil, he inspired the Anti War and Anti Draft movement of the late 1960’s. Dan Berrigan said he’s “been arrested more times than he can remember but fewer times than he should have.”
Fr. Daniel Berrigan, his brother Phil, and 6 others broke into the GE Missile plant in King of Prussia, PA. which launched their Plowshares movement. A film titled IN THE KING OF PRUSSIA: THE TRIAL OF THE PLOWSHARES 8 takes us back to 1982 with Emile de Antonio’s portrayal of the Plowshares 8 civic disobedience at General Electric’s nuclear weapons plant in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The group included Molly Rush, co-founder of the Merton Center. Can be seen on youtube, https://youtu.be/kUph8GWFupE Berrigan was a poet, pacifist, educator, social activist, playwright and lifelong resister to what he called “American military imperialism.”
Fr Berrigan burning draft papers for the Vietnam war in 1968 which made national headlines. Fr Berrigan traveled to North Vietnam with historian Howard Zinn to bring home 3 U.S. prisoners of war depicted in a documentary Holy Outlaw where they were in Vietnamese shelters while being bombed by U. S. jets. He told the story saying there were 3 children in the shelter, one older child was feeding rice to a younger child which inspired Daniel Berrigan to write a poem called Children in the Shelter. Imagine; three of them. As though survival were a rat’s word, and a rat’s death waited there at the end and I must have in the century’s boneyard heft of flesh and bone in my arms I picked up the littlest a boy, his face breaded with rice (his sister calmly feeding him as we climbed down) In my arms fathered in a moment’s grace, the messiah of all my tears. I bore, reborn a Hiroshima child from hell.

John Kiriakou worked from 1990 to 2004 as a C.I.A. analyst and a counterterrorism officer, including in Pakistan after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He helped lead the operation that captured Abu Zubaydah, who helped run a training camp for Al Qaeda fighters and other militants, and whose detention after a shootout in Pakistan was hailed as the agency’s first big success after Sept. 11. Mr. Kiriakou described the episode in a 2012 memoir, “The Reluctant Spy: My Secret Life in the C.I.A.’s War on Terror.”
Mr. Kiriakou, who first came to public attention in 2007 when he spoke publicly about waterboarding, is one of eight current or former government employees prosecuted by the Obama administration for disclosing secrets to reporters.
Jeffrey’s wife, Holly Sterling, told me in an email on Sunday that Jeffrey appears to have suffered a heart attack. She said:
Things continue to get worse for Jeffrey. He had another episode today and had to go to the medic. He was playing darts and began sweating profusely, heart pounding, and chest pain. Jeffrey was informed, for the first time, of his blood work results. He has high levels of Troponin. A Troponin test measures the levels of Troponin T or Troponin I proteins in the blood. These proteins are released when the heart muscle has been damaged, such as occurs with a heart attack. The more damage there is to the heart, the greater the amount of Troponin T and I there will be in the blood.
Prison medical officials told Jeffrey two weeks ago that they would take him out to see a specialist, but that never happened. They told Jeffrey recently that it was the cardiologist who had cancelled the visit, a very unlikely proposition. In the meantime, he was forced to initiate something called the “Administrative Remedy Process,” which theoretically would force the warden to take action to help him. More on that in a moment.

William Binney and Dr Robert Duncan. Binney- client of GAP and National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower who worked at the agency in excess of 36 years. As Technical Director, Binney developed a revolutionary information processing system called ThinThread that, arguably, could have detected and prevented the 9/11 terrorist attacks, but NSA officials ignored the program in favor of Trailblazer, a program that not only ended in total failure, but cost taxpayers billions of dollars.
Concerned over national security, Binney and Wiebe blew the whistle on the mismanagement over Trailblazer, using internal channels to share their concerns with Congress and the Department of Defense Inspector General (DoD IG). Despite their efforts, no one was held accountable at NSA for one of the worst intelligence failures in history. Little did they know at the time, Binney and Wiebe would face harsh retaliation from NSA for their efforts to make the truth known.
After the failure of U.S. intelligence to prevent the events of 9/11, the NSA wrongfully applied a component of the ThinThread system to illegally spy on the private communications of U.S. citizens. Unable to stay at the NSA any longer in good conscience, Binney and Wiebe retired in October 2001. After retiring, Binney and Wiebe continued to blow the whistle from outside the agency. GAP provided Binney and Wiebe with legal advice on whistleblowing matters and assisted them with media and public advocacy.
Since that time, Binney and Wiebe have made several key disclosures crucial to the ongoing public debate about America's national security state, such as the first public description of NSA’s massive domestic spying program, Stellar Wind, which intercepts domestic communications without protections for US citizens. Binney revealed that NSA has been given access to telecommunications companies’ domestic and international billing records, and that since 9/11 the agency has intercepted between 15 and 20 trillion communications. Binney further disclosed that Stellar Wind was grouped under the patriotic-sounding “Terrorist Surveillance Program” in order to give cover to its constitutionally-questionable nature.
Dr. Robert Duncan is an Ex-CIA black project scientist who figured out they were targeting innocent people domestically and became a whistleblower. He has some great advice for targeted individuals and some great information in some areas.
