Let's Build an InvestArm Plains Pistol Kit Part 6: Nosecap, Tang & Guard | Caplock Muzzleloader
Today we're back in the shop for our first Winter 2023-2024 project! This kit is a continuation of the Lyman Plains Blackpowder Pistol, now made by InvestArm of Italy.
In this video I focus on refining the lock and side plate panels. This does a few things for us, one being it moves us forward a step towards a completed build. Two, it prepares this section of wood for finish, and three; it cleans up the changes we made to the shapes of the panels.

I talk about each of the Hawken parts, their purpose and place on the muzzleloader, some of my top tips for muzzleloader kit building, and my recommendations on what to research before starting.
If you have any questions about this kit or the techniques I'm using, leave them in the comments below. I will address as many comments as I can in videos associated with this series to give you as much detail as I can about the answer.
