Documents relating to the Second World War, previously classified, have now revealed that the Soviet Union's western allies didn't want to help Moscow fight the Nazis at the start of the war – but were themselves planning their own airstrike on USSR assets

To celebrate the beginning of Pride Month, the US embassy in the Vatican City has hung a large rainbow flag on the front of their building. Footage filmed at the embassy on Wednesday shows the tribute from the US hanging, while local residents shared their thoughts on the move.
"The US Embassy to the Holy See celebrates #PrideMonth with the Pride Flag on display during the month of June. The United States respects the dignity and equality of LGBTQI+ people. LGBTQI+ rights are human rights," read the official Twitter account of the US Embassy in Holy See.
Locals shared mixed reactions to the idea. However, most agreed that this would never have been a faesible concept under a Trump administration.
"As far as I know, the church is not supporting LGBT communities, but they need to change their ideas, they need to change their minds. So, I think it's a good sign to put a flag on the embassy, it shows them they are changing their ideas," stated local resident Zeynep Kantav.
"I think Pope Francis has been very clear. People are welcomed. Obviously they should be welcomed, as there is freedom for them. Now, this next thing is my personal opinion. About the word marriage, maybe the word marriage should be saved for heterosexual couples. Then, unions can be blessed, but marriage no. Marriage is between a man and a woman," remarked local resident Francesca.
The flag caused slightly more controversy when it was revealed that the embassy was actually flying the seven colour peace flag. The seven colour peace flag is not to be confused with the similar six colour gay pride flag, which does not have the colour azure.
"I don't know, maybe they made a mistake but I think that [pride] was what it was supposed to symbolise," said passer-by Deniza.
Under the Trump administration, US diplomatic outposts were reportedly prohibited from flying the rainbow flag, and had to obtain special permission to do so. They were allowed to display the flag inside buildings, but nothing like what was on display in the Vatican City today.
SOUNDBITE:
SOT, Francesca, Local resident (Italian): "There is talk of procreation. Clearly, there is an ethic about homosexual sexuality. I think Pope Francis has been very clear. People are welcomed. Obviously they should be welcomed, as there is freedom for them. Now, this next thing is my personal opinion. About the word marriage, maybe the word marriage should be saved for heterosexual couples. Then, unions can be blessed, but marriage no. Marriage is between a man and a woman. As I said, unions can be blessed, people can be welcome, of course."

The DNC’s case for Russiagate was centered on unverified, and now debunked, claims from an IT contractor called “Crowdstrike” that was paid to make us to think that the DNC’s emails were hacked by Russia. This narrative went the same way as the Steele Dossier and other laughable excuses for Hillary Clinton getting beaten by Donald Trump. Lee Camp takes a victory lap this week as the final pillar of the Russiagate conspiracy theory crumbles. Crowdstrike’s claims fell apart in court but I’m sure the Democrats aren’t going to change their electoral strategies.

The world’s most famous purveyor of robotic ‘dogs’, Boston Dynamics, has released another conversation-starting video.
To celebrate a partnership with South Korean firm Hyundai, the US company got its ‘Spot’ cyber-hounds to perform an intricate dance routine to ‘IONIQ: I’m On It’ by South Korean boy band BTS.
Most people seemed to applaud the undoubtedly impressive technology on display, but for some on social media, it was all a bit scary.
Many called the display ‘dystopian’ (remember that bit in ‘Blade Runner ‘when the replicants do a Jackson 5 routine? Us neither) or ‘horrifying,’ with one labeling it an ‘advancement for the police state’.
Other true red, white, and blue patriots mourned the fact that more US technology had left their country’s shores (possibly just before they jumped in their Korean cars).
But can these worried voices stop the march of these totalitarian death machines? Only if they turn the music off, it seems.

Hundreds marched in Freiberg on Monday protesting against tightened COVID-19 restrictions.
Hundreds of coronavirus sceptics gathered for a weekly 'walk' to protest against the measures.
Despite the current regional ban for any gathering of more than 10 people, the protesters marched for almost an hour, until encircled by the police.
The unauthorised march took place on the day when the Saxon parliament declared a regional state of emergency amidst record number of COVID cases.

Dozens of anti-LGBT counter protesters rallied in opposition to the Bialystok Pride parade on Saturday.
A heavy police presence separated the two protest groups as counter protesters, which included far-right elements, chanted anti-LGBT slogans.
Pride Parade participants were able to march through town despite the opposition.
Pride Parades sprung up in the 1970s, following the Stonewall Riots of 1969 in New York City. The marches, held across hundreds of cities globally, are usually a celebration of LGBT identities, a commemoration of past struggles and a form of protest against anti-LGBT discrimination.

SOT, Eryk, Pride parade participant (Polish): "I don't feel a threat, I feel some forms of repression that are visible on the streets. All I have to do is wear checked trousers and I am able to hear from bystanders: 'Get the fuck out, you f*ggot', to quote."
SOT, Eryk, Pride parade participant (Polish): "There is nothing to be afraid of. What can you be afraid of? Being hit by a rock? In that case, it is them who show their stupidity and their weakness by throwing stones at someone, and by being unable to express themselves in any other way, through conversation, debate, they only use this aspect of force."
