ABOUT THIS CHANNEL: Welcome to My Mum Makes! I’ve started this channel as a creative outlet to share my sewing projects online. I’ve loved to sew since my Mum taught me as a little girl and I find it relaxing, productive and fun. I love the chance to make things for my kids, myself and our home and I want you to feel motivated to give sewing a try and get creative. I think creativity is good for us especially as Mums. We can get so stuck in our everyday repetition, but spending some me-time creating something is a great way to unwind, prioritise our needs and use our brains in a different way to the everyday. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @mymummakes.marie to see more of what I’m up to.

This video helped me know how to take my machine apart and specifically how to clean my machine. It would be helpful even if you have a different machine though.

Our entryway needed a revamp and I'm loving how this DIY Bench Cushion Cover looks on the shoe rack that we've put in our hallway. Today's tutorial will teach you how to sew a removable bench cushion cover and also give you ideas about storing kids shoes and hats so they are accessible for when you're leaving the house.

It's just been Book Week here in Australia and with Halloween coming up for those of you in the Northern hemisphere, it's time for some DIY costume inspiration. Today I'll be sharing a family costume idea of the three bears. This goes along with the Goldilocks wig I created in my last video.
I'm also very excited to be able to share with you the gender of our little baby bear that we'll be welcoming into our family this coming February!
SIZING THE BEAR EARS?
I cut the length of my headbands to be 63cm (25 inches) and it would fit for a toddler, preschooler or young school aged kid. Although I can get it on my head, it is pretty tight on my jaw especially when talking. I would recommend making the headband 67cm (26 inches) if you wanted it to comfortably fit a teen or adult.

Christmas is right around the corner! These Santa Sacks are the perfect DIY for a beginner looking to sew an alternative to a Christmas Stocking for their kids. Christmas Sacks are a practical size and shape to put all the goodies you'll be sharing with your littles ones on Christmas morning.
This Christmas Santa Sack design features two fabrics, decorative ribbon details, drawstring closure and boxed corners to give the bag some dimension. This is a very easy project but looks amazing.

After many requests, I'm finally sharing how to sew a cot sheet for a baby bed. A fitted crib sheet makes a great baby shower or new baby gift and they are easily personalised and make such a statement in a nursery. This sewing tutorial is beginner friendly so I hope you have a go at making one for yourself!
