Randy Stone is a reporter who covers the night beat for the Chicago Star. Most of the show consisted of suspense and crime stories, though it occasionally featured sentimental or humorous stories. The show was later given a pilot for a potential TV series, which never materialized.

Lights Out is an American old-time radio program devoted mostly to horror and the supernatural.
Created by Wyllis Cooper and then eventually taken over by Arch Oboler, versions of Lights Out aired on different networks, at various times, from January 3, 1934 to the summer of 1947 and the series eventually made the transition to television. Lights Out was one of the earliest radio horror programs, predating Suspense and Inner Sanctum.

Lux Radio Theater: This Gun For Hire
Originally aired January 25th, 1943
A lone gunman on the run comes across a femme fatale and a plot bigger than he can imagine.
Initially, the series adapted Broadway plays during its first two seasons, but the show eventually began adapting films. These hour-long radio programs were performed live before studio audiences. The series became the most popular dramatic anthology series on radio, broadcast for more than 20 years and continued on television as the Lux Video Theatre through most of the 1950s.

Power Records, also known as Peter Pan Records, was a label created by a company called Synthetic Plastics, who owned several other labels. The shows they produced featured licensed characters such as Peter Pan, Superman, Batman, the Lone Ranger, plus shows like Star Trek.

Caltex Theatre was an Australian show similar to Lux Radio Theater. It aired from 1950 to 1959. Sponsored by Caltex Oil Company, the shows were popular movies of the time.
