In which JF waxes eloquent on Robin Hood and generally geeks out about Sherwood Forest. Warning: Contains a large and potentially infectious amount of enthusiasm. Plus one leaf angel.
In which JB shares a theory that there are effectively three ways to change the world: through technology, through law, or through culture. Also a brief discussion of the merits of each with regard to promoting Homesteading; leading to comments on @FarmBot , front yard gardening, and two relevant figures from the Book of Mormon.
If you're going to change the world, change it unambiguously for the better.

In which JB comments on his broken water pipe and the amazingly competent people who fixed it. Also, broken water pipes are a thing that can happen, so it would be prudent to have some water storage.

Ones I left out: Student clubs (with discretion), discussions with your peers, free access to the gym, free personal trainers, free martial arts classes, free fencing clubs, free access to the pool, cheaper prices on software, reduced rates for public transit, student rates at museums and elsewhere, etc ad nauseam.
Basically, the resources available are staggering. So go forth and be awesome.

Yes. Yes you can. As the first episode of our pottery series, we refine a test sample of clay from the local dirt by screening out the rocks and then dissolving the dirt in water. I then waited for the sand to settle out and scraped it off the bottom. Then the clay water was allowed to settle out.

Question everything! All truth is relative. Nothing is true. All statements are either meaningless or verifiable through empirical measurement. Logical Positivism generally.
Some ideas have self destruct buttons built into them because they can't apply to themselves. These paradoxical ideas are wrong, inherently, but they often live on longer than they should if people don't think them through.

This is part 3 of what I hope will be a series of long-form discussions of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. To quote the author: "Now that we do have some time, and know it, I would like to use the time to talk in depth about things that seem important." This video discusses Pirsig's questions about how "real" the laws of science are, and also discusses the way that Pirsig's insanity complicates the way we should think about the authorship of the book.
