What I Think About: Crush, Daughter of Lobo
Due to the longer production time of my story spotlights lately, I've decided to introduce a new series of shorter videos to fill in the void between spotlights. This series is called "What I Think About..." Where I talk about specific topics that either are too new to give a spotlight to or too broad to dedicate to. And for the inaugural video I will talk about one of the newest Teen Titans who has become a very strong character in her own right, Crush The Daughter of Lobo!
Introduced in Teen Titans (2016) #20 alongside other new characters Djinn and Roundhouse, Crush was introduced with a mysterious past and the only ties were obvious but still confusing. WHO did Lobo Knock up to have her?
That question...really didn't matter since from the word GO Crush has shown to be an interesting character. She's strong yes, she's in the team for seemingly selfish reasons, and she has a trigger temper that can lead to tantrums. But beyond all that, she is a legitimate good person.
As discussed in my Teen Titans #25 review, Crush had a good upbringing...well as good as one can have with hippie druggies as parents who were doing their best could raise her.
But the best part about her character I will say is...she is an open Lesbian but, surprising in this day and age, that is NOT her defining trait at all! It's important yes but not all she talks about!

Stan Lee and John Romita Sr's run on Spider-Man is considered an all time classic (well that and Ditko of course) Who could ever forget that timeless last page where we FINALLY meet Mary Jane Watson and hear her classic line "Face it Tiger, you just hit the Jackpot!"
Well in the 90's after the clone saga and all that, Stan and John reunited, with a plot from Tom DeFalco, to work on one more story as a team! And this story was a pure fun! Spider-man seems to have snapped and is gunning people down with Bullets intstead of his web shooters! Or so it thinks as, in actuality, Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin is framing Spider-Man to showcase a new enhancement drug! Along the way Spidey Teams up with Daredevil, the only Marvel Hero to believe his innocence, as they fight to clear the Webheads good name and bring Fisk down!
It's a nice short little book with amazing artwork and witty dialogue (some of the best in Stan's later years if you ask me) come and see what I mean!

Out of ANY movie adaptation I'd ever expect to find enjoyable...the LAST I'd ever expect would be one about DORA THE EXPLORER!
Yeah! The pre-school kids show from Nickelodeon gets a movie adaptation...one that features an teenage Dora! Yeah an idea that was done as a parody by College Humor gets used for a movie...okay that's a big unfair. It's not AS edgy as the College Humor video but it has parallels. We see an older Dora that acts just like she does in the show among a world that finds her being very weird.
And the funny thing is...it works! And not just on a pre-school level, not just on a "For kids" level...but for all ages even adults! The acting was fun, the humor, for the most part, was good, the story was good too!
So see me and my friend Ingrid talk about what we thought about this movie in a spoiler filled review.

Bringing our Kaiju stuff full circle, going back to our Gamera Retrospective, Ingrid and I go over the Gamera comics!
Sadly there's not much to go over.
In my Arrow Videos Gamera collection has all 5 comics. The first is Matt Frank's The Last Hope Doujin he did to celebrate Gamera's 50th anniversary! Collected for the first time. This gave the origins to Heisei Gamera
Also Dark Horse attempted a Gamera comic, one that bridged the gap between the first two Heisei Gamera movies! It's just a wild romp that recreates Zigra (Sadly Poorly) and Viras (WAY more impressive)..
Yeah not a lot but it does bring things full circle. So enjoy people.

I'm Back again guys with a new Crowdfunded comic review! This time the long (but not THAT long) awaited new volume of the Iconic Comics line of books, Kamen America Volume 3! The first to be Hardcover too!
Picking up not long after the events of Volume 2, Carley, Misha, and new recruit Kimiko are starting on an upswing. No longer worried about wanting the full blown recognition Carley feels they deserve, instead they start to take what they get, which is a very positive attitude.
But thing start to escalate as Lansky, Carly's form manager, continues to push Vermilion Masquerade (the monster creator) and Kamen UN (Carly's High School Rival turned Super-Hero Riva) until they finally come to ahead!
At the same time, one member of the Kamen Corp is starting to feel very left out as they decide to finally get some answers. And boy howdy do we get some..including the reveal of who Vermilion is...and I gotta admit I DIDN'T see it coming!
The writing and artwork continue to improve with every installment of this series and I can't wait for the Black Hops X Kamen America crossover!

Well this chapter of the Unity Saga has come to a close! This is the perfect jumping off point for my reviews but if you want me to continue please let me know.
All the plot points of this title (and Supergirl) converge into issue as the Super Family fight Zod and Rogal-Zar...which gets resolved quickly. We then get all the obvious catching up and setting up the next status quo as Superman lets his son go off again! It's a conclusion and a catch up that's typical typical Bendis! And it's...not that bad of a conclusion compared to whats come before but it leads into what could possibly be a another head banger as we get "What TRULY happened to Krypton"...yeah...right...
