Philadelphia police have released new video footage depicting a shooting incident that occurred on January 26, 2024 that resulted in an injured officer, the death of one suspect, and the ongoing search for another. According to authorities, both officers were patrolling one of the city's most dangerous crime areas when they stopped for a security check at a corner store located at 2859 North Masher and Cambria streets. The officer is seen approaching three individuals, where he reportedly observed a a firearm in the pocket on one of them, identified as 28-year-old Alexander Spencer, who was wanted for a non-fatal shooting in the area. The second officer, later identified as Raheem Hall, becomes aware of the weapon as he enters the store, leading to a swift struggle. A scuffle ensues, resulting in both officers falling to the ground with Spencer just before two gunshots are heard. According to police, one of those shots was fired by Spencer, striking one of the officers in the leg four times as he crouched on the ground. Police said the bullet goes in his thigh out his thigh in the back of his calf and out the front of his leg. In response, Officer Hall fired his weapon, fatally striking Spencer. Police clarify that the officers' guns remained holstered until the suspect opened fire, and during the incident, the struck officer's gun failed to fire. Following the exchange, 42-year-old Jose Quinones-Mendez is observed taking the suspect’s gun and fleeing the store. He is wanted for charges including Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA), Theft, Obstruction of Justice, and Tampering with Evidence. A $10,000 reward by the Philadelphia's police union is being offered for any information leading to his arrest. The officer who was shot in the leg was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition, officials said. He was later released from the hospital Monday afternoon January 29th. Deputy Commissioner said: "on the night of the shooting we thought that the officer was shot two times cuz he had four wounds all right, we now know that he had a double perforating wound so he was down in a crouch uh during the struggle his leg was bent and the bullet goes in his thigh, out his thigh in the back of his calf and out the front of his leg. #officerinvolvedshooting #policebodycam Please Subscribe! The Clark County Sheriff’s Officer released 4 body camera of a deputy-involved in a fatal shooting that occurred on April 13th, 2024. According police, At 10:10 am., 2024 Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy Cordero spotted a suspicious vehicle near the regal Cinema 99 in the Hazel Dell neighborhood, Vancouver, Washington. Deputy Cordero observed 2 people, a male (described as bald) and a female (described as having reddish hair) walking away from the vehicle. Deputy Cordero attempted to speak with them but they continue leaving the area. At 10:38 a.m. Deputies responded to a reported carjacking in Hazel Dell (9200 Block of NE 15th Avenue). The victim reported that two suspects, a male described as bald and a female, described as having reddish-blonde hair, had stolen his van. The witness also stated that the male suspect was armed with a handgun. The suspects reportedly left the scene in the stolen van. At 10:55 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious circumstance near Goodwill in Salmon Creek, located at 14300 North East 20th Avenue. Witnesses stated that a male and female had attempted to carjack a vehicle with a person inside. Descriptions of the suspects near Goodwill matched the descriptions of the armed suspects in the Hazel Dell carjacking. Deputies responded to the scene and set up a containment area to search for the suspects. Deputies located the stolen van from the Hazel Dell carjacking behind the American Legion at 14011 North East 20th Avenue. While discussing their next steps, a bald male walked out from behind a shipping container in the parking lot. Deputies observed the male suspect later identified as 41-year-old Benjamin Steven Woods of Prineville, Oregon enter the American Legion. Deputies contacted Woods inside the American Legion, where an officer-involved shooting took place. Once the scene was under control, deputies provided first aid to Woods according to Washington state policy. When medical personnel arrived, they pronounced Woods dead at the scene. Later that day at around 3:25 p.m., Deputies located and arrested the female suspect near North East 144th Street and North East 20th Avenue. No deputies or bystanders were physically injured.
